Sea-Monkeys was the one toy I never got when I was a kid and I really wish I did! . I first bought myself a really cheap knock-off called SpongeBob Square paints "Plenty-o-plankton" at a local Wallgreens around the holidays to try with my 2 grandsons. Thank goodness I tried it out first because it was total JUNK! I only paid $3.99 for it, so as I always say, you get what you pay for! Anyway, I did a ton of research to figure out what I was doing wrong and discovered that Plenty-O-Plankton was not the same thing as the genuine Sea-Monkeys. Well, this prompted me to find the real deal. I did some searching and Amazon has many different Sea-Monkey kits to choose from. I bought this kit because I'm a SciFi nut any I figured it would be a great conversation piece for my office and it has. I've had people stop by every day to look at them. It really works great and I will buy another one for my grandsons.
Important to note: Read ALL THE DIRECTIONS on the packets and the FAQ's at [...] if you have any troubles. They also have great e-mail support. Water temp and location of the tank is very important. Avoid direct sunlight but using an incandescent light to keep the tank temp above 72? F helps them grow really fast.

Schylling Sea Monkeys On Mars Reviews
Mesmerizing . I got this for my son, but ended up watching the Sea Monkeys frolic for long periods of time. The Mars tank is the best because it looks almost like a natural setting. At first, some Sea Monkeys keep running into the astornaut, but now they are a little better at avoiding him.
I followed the insructions and the Sea Monkeys are thriving! There are mature Sea Monkeys and babies in my tank. I'm waiting for the next generation to be born, since some females have been carrying egg sacs around for a while now. The babies like to hide near the base of the mountain, while the adults swim all around. Now they are even bold enough to swim under the spaceship.
I aerate the tank every other day with a tiny Capri Sun juice straw that has the bottom 1/4" folded up and taped. I pieced all over the bottom 1/2 inch of the straw with the smallest pin pricks I could make. Be careful to keep blowing and draw the straw up before water (any Sea Monkeys) gets sucked into the straw.
They also love short periods of direct sun (make sure the water doesn't get hotter than 77 degrees F.) If it is the first light of the day, they go wild! That's also what makes this tank so great. The arches and mountain make some shade for Sea Monkeys that prefer privacy and less sun. Since they're so little, it looks like they are flying around. I think this is by far the most comfortable habitat for Sea Monkeys that I've seen.
I hope they make some more like this so I have someplace a little different to put my 2nd generation Sea Monkeys. I want to bring one to my offic!

Sea Monkeys are fun :) . I like this aquarium because the wide base makes it hard to accidentally tip over.
Here's a tip: for an aerator, I bought a cheap two-pack of airstones at the pet store, and popped one right into the Aqua-Leash.

Sea Monkeys on Mars a down to earth habitat! . My 7 year old son and I received the sea monkey habitat and he marveled at it, waiting with bated breath for the sea monkeys to arrive. When they arrived, we established a colony of sea monkeys on mars, letting my son see how life forms. Now he can learn how to care for the sea monkey as they grow and flourish. This is a great life lesson toy about life and how it forms.
Good Fun! . The whole family is enjoying our Sea Monkeys on Mars! The set-up is super easy, and the critters all hatched. The little and big kids alike are all checking in on them frequently and enjoying feeding/watching them grow. Lot's of fun, great price!
Solid sea monkey habitat! . I bought this sea monkey habitat as a replacement for one of those other, much more flimsy aquariums that are out there. It has not disappointed! This set is much easier to move from windowsill to windowsill (without fear of breaking or leaking) than the now-retired, older aquarium. Good stuff!
Fun even for adults! . Bought these as a gift for my husbands 43rd birthday. He always wanted them as a kid. I think he loves them even more as an adult! So much fun to see him acting like a kid! Very easy to use! Going to purchase two more sets for our 11 year old boys for Christmas!
Pretty good . When I received the kit, the little astronaut had broken off of his tether and was rattling around the box. I wasn't too upset so I just threw him into the tank and let him sit on the bottom.
I don't understand why they put the Aqualeash in this kit, because it is generally used to move your sea monkeys back and forth between containers, but since this is the only one I have, moving the little guys for no reason makes no sense. However, I did end up using it for an aerator, since the Million Bubbles Air Pump is sold separately. I just do one pump, and then withdraw the Aqualeash so that nothing gets sucked up, and then let go of the pump,
Other than that, the kit is pretty good. It's not the best quality, but if you just want some sea monkeys to look at and read all the directions to take care of them, you should be pretty good with this.

So Much Fun! . I wish I would have given them a little more time when I was a kid before pouring the water out, I didn't know how small they would be. I gave em a little more time this time around and wasn't disappointed, they sprouted with almost no effort on my part and they are now thriving, unlike their neighbors, the fish. This is a great, fun educational toy and the Mars theme is really cool for a kid (or adult like me) who is a science geek (and i mean that in a good way.)
