Kids loved it! . I teach a small group of home schoolers aged 5-8 based on these kits and this kit was great! I loved hearing the "WOW's" from kids when we did some of these experiments (especially solar beads). I used 4 kits for 12 kids and they were able to share with few extras being purchased (from the grocery store). I combined it with the "Soaring Into Flight" kit for the semester. We did trivia on the last day and I was amazed at what their little minds absorbed!

The planets didn't stick to the play dough as well as expected, but we easily fixed that with toothpicks. Use very little water to paint the planets and glue your mobile if you want it to stay on the wires. This kit is very much worth the money even with these little bumps.

Magic School Bus Fun! . Awesome toy, but the clay that came in it was already dried out. So we are purchasing extra. Other than that, its great :)

Fun but flimsy . My 6-year old enjoyed the projects; however, the kit is pretty flimsy. The projects will last a week if we are lucky.

Not all that great . I had high hopes considering the name, but it fell short. It makes for a decent jumping off point, but the constellation project was a complete fail that served only to frustrate and there is a real lack of information and instruction overall. I wont be buying this name again.

Just okay . I was disappointed by the quality of this product. The first thing my son and I attempted to do was construct the solar system, but the paint was difficult to use on the styrofoam and the wire was hard to attach to the project. We tried another experiment with a flashlight and then something with identifying stars, which was nearly impossible. These were educational, but not enticing enough to keep his interest for more than a couple of hours. He gave it another attempt when he tried to assemble a telescope that did not want to cooperate. Nobody in our family was able to figure out the little cardboard telescope, there goes my husband's engineering career.

My nephew liked it! . I got this for my nephew who is interested in space and astronomy. He liked the hands on activities and I think he enjoyed learning a little more about the moon and the planets.

Not happy at all. . Bought for our daughter, we love the books and the video, but this "lab" is a major disappointment. Cheaply made with little educational value. It might be okay as a rainy day activity but not as a lesson for our homeschool.

good project for kid . Very educational product. You can't paint the provided foam globes to make different planets because paint doesn't stay on the globes.

Great educational but fun toy . My kids (5 & 7 1/2) really enjoyed this kit when we got it - fun but still educational. The Magic School Bus kits are all really great. I'd recommend them...

Nice big letters! . We had gotten other magnetic letters before and been really disappointed by the size. The size of these letters is perfect for our little one who's just learning her letters. They are well made, colorful and has strong enough magnets to keep their positions on the fridge. Overall, great set!

My Son Loves These . My son (almost 3 years old) loves his refrigerator alphabet magnets, so I wanted to buy him a set with more than one of each letter, since he's learning to read. He loves these. They are a great size and the magnets are strong enough to stick securely, but not so strong that he can't take them off himself.

good teaching device . My grandson is writing a lot of words using these letters and a magnetic board at age 3.5. I wish there were more duplicate letters like "e" so that more words could be written. Better buy two or three sets if you want enough letters to spell out most words. They are a nice size and actually stay stuck on the board.

Nice set of letters and numbers. . The numbers and letters are a nice large size. The magnets are not as hefty as I thought they would be but they are able to hold the piece up. These are better than the small letters we received with our dry erase board.

COOL AND EDUCATIONAL . I bougt this for my one-year-old nephew because he has an easle. The letters and numbers are very colorful and big enough to grasp. He loves it and so does his parents and I am super happy I chose this set. It was also a great price and the bucket the letters come in, is really a great size.. :)

Wonderful . We had letter magnets before but some of the letters got lost so we needed to replace them. We love these because you get capitol, and lower case letters plus numbers and math symbols. The size of these are great better than the ones we had before!! I would recommend anyone to buy these. They are good quality and seem to be durable.

Love these magnets . This is a good set of the alphabet, numbers, and it even has punctuation marks. I put them all over the refrigerator. Only 1 letter out of the entire set slips a little bit because the magnet was set a little too far in. But the alphabet/numbers are very well made in general.

love it . love the size of these! I got tired of the small cheap ones that don't stick to the fridge very well. saw some large ones at a friend's house and decided to look for 'em...ended up getting these cuz it comes w/ 3 sets (upper case, lower case, and numbers & a few equations). Levitron World Stage . I first started researching these after seeing something like it in iron man 2, which turns out was like 300+ dollars. In the related items bar i saw this and was interested. I looked at multiple products like this one, floating globes, levitating etc.. and found this one to be the best looking, cheapest, and best reviews. I got mine yesterday and it was eaassyy to set up. Its been "levitating for about 4 hours now and still spinning the same speed as a set it. The base is very sturdy with cool looking blue LED's that work great. The globe is a little cheaper then expected but looks good. The only thing misleading is in the description it says "Floats for months with a single battery". There is no place for batteries, only for an AC power adapter. Overall this is an AWESOME product, well worth the price.

My only question is,
How long are the magnetics going to last until they start giving out if i left it on constently? The mechanical parts inside?

Fascinated by Fascinations Globe . This toy is amazing. The globe really floats in mid-air above the platform. I don't understand the problems other reviewers had getting the globe to float. We were able to do it right away with just a few tries. In getting the globe to float, you may first want to put a washcloth or something over the platform to protect the mirror surface as the globe does smash down on the platform pretty hard. At night the blue LEDs are very bright so expect to live with a bright blue glow coming from the room it's in. Our levitron has been on for weeks now and it's still going strong. I wonder how long it will last before it finally breaks?

awesome . I got this product yesterday it is unbelievably cool, it took me like one min to set it up and the globe is floating on the stage, it is going round and round it is the best thing i bought as far as the toys are concerned. you got to try this item it is worth buying.

Pretty cool/ everyone checks it out . I really like it and got what I expected. My children who were given it as a gift really liked it also (7 and 10). Not hard to get to levitate. Use a cloth over plastic mirror while you learn. Got it going in 10 min. Both my children can do it. Crashes if power goes out. Didn't mare the mirror much when it did. Hard to keep absolutely flawless, but still a great display and glad I got it.

Two strikes and it is out . The first delivery had a defective globe: the magnetic material came unglued in minutes.

The second delivery was not defective but could not be made to levitate. The magnetic disk flips
over and obviously cannot be made to levitate. The disk is different from that illustrated.
When put into the globe, I can imagine that someone could occassionally get levitation. A number
of us could not after many careful attempts. I have had many levitating devices previously and
never had difficulty being careful enough to make them work. This device does not work.

Very Nice! . When ours came, it had a protective film over the "mirror" part. When I lifted it off it looked just fine. It's not like a bathroom mirror, but I suspect that's because that type of thickness would affect how the magnets work thus affecting the floating.It's not something you can drop-kick across a room, but it's more then sturdy enough to do what it's designed to do - sit on a desk all day and levitate. It doesn't run on batteries, which in my opinion is a plus. It comes with a transformer and a switch to turn the platform lights off and on.I had no problems finding the "spot" for the globe to float and rotate, either, and I didn't even have it out of the plastic yet. I will agree that it IS a little pricey for what you get, but then again you are paying for the "cool" value of it, not just the item itself, in this case.

Mesmerizing! . I work for a large international concern, so this is an incredible and especially appropriate piece to have on my desk. Everyone stops by to admire it with a sense of real wonderment. I've had it for several weeks now and even I find myself stopping more than once during the day to just watch the globe slowly spinning in space over the mirrored base. The blue lights add a nice futuristic touch as well. The magnet can be pulled out of the globe and floated on its own, so that you can place other objects on it (up to a certain weight and size). My son has one of these and currently is floating his model space shuttle.There are only two minor drawbacks:-- The globe itself is OK but not terribly exciting. It resembles one of those classic educational globes from school, but with a noticeable, fairly unattractive silver seam around the perimeter. It's geographical but with the national borders demarcated and the names of each country printed in white. I would have preferred a more realistic-looking globe without all the artificial additions...and without that annoying seam.-- It's VERY difficult to get floating. It takes dozens and dozens of attempts until you get the hang of it, and you WILL get frustrated along the way as the globe keeps getting slammed down onto the base by the magnetic pull. Once you get the feel for setting it up on the magnetic point, it's easy. I would strongly recommend you leave the protective plastic film on the mirrored base while learning how to set the globe floating, to protect it from scuffs. (Or you can lay a tissue over the base as you're practicing.)Once you get it going and its spinning in its quiescent space and time, you will love this piece. It's thought-provoking, interesting and educational.

Cons Review

Fun when it works . I initially purchased two of these as gifts. When you receive it, the first thing you'll notice is that the cheap plastic mirror base is scratched, making it appear used. This is not the case though - the base is that stick-on mirror that is easily marred. Even when functioning properly, it will take at least several tries to get the globe levitating, and when it hits the base, it leaves marks. So I presume the marks occurred during testing or packing. You may want to consider this if you want to give this as a gift. We chose not to give them away, because it looked like we were giving a used gift.

We spent many frustrating hours trying to get the globe and/or magnet to levitate unsuccessfully. So we opened the second one(same marring on the base), and it worked within five minutes. It has now been ten months, and it is behaving as the first one did - will not levitate. You find the balanced spot, let go, and it slams back down to the base.

The levitation is caused by several strategically placed electronic magnets in the base. Apparently over time, one or more of the magnets malfunction and this causes the toy to fail.

Bottom line, it's pretty cool when it works. I thought it made a nice night light. If you're ordering it as a gift, I suggest ordering early and testing it first.

COOL! . This is one of the COOLEST executive gadgets I have every owned!!!! And I am over 40 and have had many cool gadgets on my desk. Never have I had something floating on my desk! I have had it for several weeks now and it still elicits a wow feeling from me most mornings when I walk into my office and I see the globe floating and slowly spinning on my desk. Most people that come to my office feel the same way. Plus it is a real conversation starter. I plan to buy more and send them as gifts during Christmas.

Simple products. It works for me. . Based on other reviews, there's not a whole lot new to say about the particular Levitron I ordered, so I'll just give highlights that were influencial to my review.Bad news first. As soon as I open up the package, I noticed a couple of small scratches on the mirror surface despite the protective layer that you have to peel off. Not only that, but the globe was magnetically stuck to the stage, which took some moderate force to separate. That's when I discovered this globe is not nearly as sturdy as it looks. The hemispheres came apart while trying to separate the magnets, and the first thing I notice was that the little plastic hex skeleton is broken off of the middle, and cannot be fixed. I thought to myself "oh crap, I just ruined it."Now the good news. I'm not sure what purpose that flat hex skeleton serves, but very fortunately, the product seems to work just fine without it. After all, it's just plastic. On my first attempt, I got the globe working in about a minute. I have taken the platform out and was able to levitate it, and I was also able to levitate it while attached to the globe. All the LED lights work, it levitates, and it rotates. It does what it was designed to do, and I am very pleased with how it looks. It makes for some great decor!I would recommend this product. Please note that you do have to be EXTREMELY careful when handling the globe, especially with the magnet in it. The globe is easily crushed (or otherwise deformed) if you squeeze it just a little too hard, and it also comes apart really easy. I love the product, but it's not built quite as sturdy as I would have hoped. Enough for me to bring the overall rating down by 1 star. I think it's fair.Bill

Save Your Money . My kids are pretty gentle but this globe broke within a matter of days. The base cracked and then the globe split apart at the seam. I guess this would be an OK globe for decorative purposes but definitely not a 'hands on' product for kids.

My nephew loved it! . This globe was a hit at the holidays. Everyone loved looking up spots around the world. My 4th grade nephew was thrilled and it is a good quality globe for elementary school aged children.

Good deal for the price . We bought two of these for our sons for Christmas. We have only had them for 2 weeks but they really like them and it seems like a good quality product. It was at the lower end of the price scale. I was not able to find any at the local stores where we live. I would definitely recommend it.

nice looking . I bought this for my two children 2 and 5. My 5 year old loves it and constantly is looking at it. It's very bright and colorful. I love it because it's very kid friendly. It's easy to locate places. The stand isn't very sturdy so that's why I only gave it 4 stars, but, I think I would still buy again because I think it's great for teaching kids about the world...and it was honestly the best looking one I could find out there.

Lovely globe - in the wrong language . Loved the globe; however, gave it for a Christmas present & that's when I realized it was in Spanish. There was nothing in the description nor in the ordering process which said it was in another language so unfortunately had to return it.

Small Quatities . This lip balm kit is very fun to use. ( I'm 11.)Pros: This kit is very fun to use. It has soyester (the balm base), berry wax, fragrances, shimmer and sun block drops. It also comes with UV beads and a compact for the lip balm, plus a "balmy sample wheel" that doesn't spin but you can use to make custom balms. There is also an unnecessary pair of gloves and a heating tray for the microwave.Cons: Small quantities. Very little fragrances, shimmer, and color, but I suppose that's all you need to make the lip balm. There is a little extra supplies so you can make a whole new lip balm that you can make the recipe for.Overall, fun activities for girls, I'd say, 8+. Good B-day gift.

Good Practice . If you used old wrapups, you will be a bit disappointed in these. They are all hooked together and there is one string. As a result, only one person can use them at a time...which may not be an issue for many people. Other than that, they are a great training for kids and and a nice mental exercise for adults.

Flash Cards . We really like the flash cards. The ring that holds them together comes unclasped easily but we're just going to get a metal ring as a replacement. The cards are sturdy and the pictures, etc. are great!

Educational . My daughter is not very interested in flash cards. Puzzles are her favorite activity. However, I bought this set for the car ride and she seems to like it. The cards are colorful and made very well. The ring works perfectly fine. not to tight not too loose. If your child likes flash cards this is a great set. You can also teach colors, foods, and animals using the set.

Simple and well-designed . The cards are sturdy and plastic so they stay clean, and the ring clasps securely so that the cards stay on it (almost too securely - I have arthritis and sometimes have difficulty opening it). We used these on a road trip, and my daughter used them for storytelling and colors so they have more potential than just numbers.

Good Sturdy Flashcards . I found these to be a great way to sit with my grandchildren and play learning games. These are durable, easily wiped off, thick and colorful. The only thing that could be improved is the plastic ring that holds these cards together. It is not very sturdy and does not click securely and can cause all the cards to fall off of the ring. I fixed that with a simple piece of tape to hold both sides of the snap lock ring together. Overall, these have been a fun way to learn with my grandchildren and I would recommend them.

Makes a great fountain and a lot of fun . It is important to follow the directions - don't use a full tube of mentos they just spray out - and don't loose the pin. It seems expensive for what it is, but is MUCH easier than trying to fabricate something yourself. Just add pop - any diet (NO SPLENDA) works best.

Son's b-day . Got this for my son's Mad Science birthday party. I purchased 4 geyser tubes, and 3 out of 4 of the geysers leaked through the sides, we had alot of diet coke bottles so the kids took turns. Other than that, they had a blast getting soaked by the geysers.

Lots of fun! . Overall, we enjoyed the Geyser Tube. The soda shot pretty high up into the air! We had fun setting it off during two separate parties (outside, in our patio). The biggest problem was that soda still escaped out the sides from the tube (instead of all of the soda going straight up through the top), even though we tried to pull the pin out fast so the guard could come down over the holes. We ran the experiment 4 times (we had extra Mentos around for the party) and it was a crowd-pleaser (we have some away as party prizes) but each time we still had a problem with soda coming out the sides.

Fun toy! . This is a fun toy. The kids had a ball with it over the holidays. I recommend this as it's easier to use.

Works as advertised! . I purchased the Mentos Geyser Tube for my daughter who wanted to use it for her 8th grade Science Project and it performed flawlessly!
Had no problems with the pin as others have complained about and was amazed at how high our geysers shot! Nearly 20 ft.! Amazing!

Mentos experiment tube . This did exactly what we wanted! You put the entire tube of mentos in, pull the plug and watch the soda explode! It is way cool!

Lots of Geyser fun. . We really enjoyed playing with the Geyser Tube. We took it to friends for the 4th of July and they really thought it was a blast. Can't wait to show it to some other people.

Resistor substitution box with changed faceplate . Identical to the Elenco resistor substitution box, but with a changed faceplate. The PCB is identical, so the capacitors are labeled R1, R2, ..., and the pin spacing is more appropriate for a resistor. Some of the capacitors are slightly too tall for the design, and get squished a little bit in assembly. For more details, see reviews of the resistor box, since it's the same product.

useful item with minor issues in assembly . As was said previously, this kit uses the same circuit board as the resistor substitution box kit. As a result, bending the leads of the capacitors to fit the holes meant for resistors was a bit of pain, but not overly difficult. Other than this, assembling the kit is fairly straightforward (you have to know how to solder, of course) and is functional and useful when built.

I would recommend this kit to anyone that needs to try different value capacitors in a circuit. A Great Educational Resource . These cards are amazing! When I received these I was very amazed to find that they were filled with so many learning ideas. Not only are these cards set up to help you learn your numbers, but as a parent you also have the opportunity to use them in so many different ways. We used both of these sets with my youngest daughter who is 3.5. We started with the first set and once she started better recognizing the numbers from 1-10, we moved on to try the 11-20 cards as well. She is still struggling with these but she is catching on. What she loves is the fact that the cards themselves are made for kids her age. With vibrant colors and fun animals, she can relate and she enjoys counting the animals that were on each of the cards.I started being the one who would pick each set of cards within the pack, but I quickly found that she was saying that she wanted to do Math at night like her big sister and that she wanted to be the one to choose what cards we were using as well.I have seen a marked improvement in both number recognition as well as comprehension through using these cards and I have to say that anyone that is looking for a set of cards that will assist with their own child's math skills, you should look no further than these cards.

Product Review - The ChildUp Early Learning Game Cards . Ben immediately points to the farm animals' series when I asked him which cards he wants to play with first. I kept the rest and practised the farm animal series of cards with him as I wanted him to get familiar with the cards.

How I Tested the Cards?
I started with the first pack of the cards with Ben by getting him to be familiarised with the animals on the farm, followed by the number of animals (from 1 to 10) and I then asked him what are the animals for the cards I picked and the number of animals on the card picked.

As of end of August, he has yet to master the numbering part but he does answer quickly when it comes to naming the animals on the cards.

I would definitely continue using this as I feel there is much more potential for this cards on Ben.

What's good?
* I like that I can teach Ben on counting from 0 to 10.
* I like that the cards come with both sides showing different designs (one showing the animals, the other side showing the animal with the number)
* I also like that I can teach my child the different types of animals.

Room for improvement?
* I would prefer if the cards are thicker. It somehow felt thin and fragile and I was worried it gets crumpled easily.
* I would prefer if there is just a standard sheet of paper for the Parent's Cards so that I can read it at once (it also reduce paper wastage).

Great resource for learning! . I really liked these cards. What a great way for learning to count while incorporating animals as well. They are easy to use as well!

The 16 parent cards include information on the learning game cards as well as topics such as "Both parents as role models", "Parents are First Teachers" and "Learning as a Routine". This first set of cards is designed to teach numbers 0 to 10, numbers as quantities and symbols and the first steps with addition. The "Teach your Child to Count to 10' cards help develop your child's math, logic, listening, memory, attention, concentration, language and social skills while having fun! The "Teach Your Child to Count to 20' cards also include the 48 child's cards as well as the 16 parent cards. The parents cards cover different topics than the previous pack, including ""Memory and Concentration Development", "Building Vocabulary and Words" and "Listening to Your Children". My four year old son, Tate, had so much fun putting all the cards in order by counting the animals on the cards. He is also every interested in science so he enjoyed listening to descriptions of the animals on the back of the cards! Great toddler teaching aid! . We've been counting nearly everything in sight with out toddler, that is really the best way to learn. These counting cards however are a great activity for a parent and child to reinforce counting and even learn a myriad or animal, reptile, sea life, and insect names. We received the Teach Your Child to Count to 10 and Teach Your Child to Count to 20 sets (for a blog review). There are a total of 80 animals on these card sets and those really had my toddler excited. At first we sat and counted all of them together, now she likes to spread them out on the floor by herself and play with them herself. Sometimes she runs up to me and asks an animal name or a number. I certainly don't mind she keeps herself busy and is learning to recognize numbers in the process. I'm supposed to give birth sometime this week, I think these will be great for entertaining her while I'm nursing!
