magnetic poetry for kids . The size of these are excellent. Large enough to read and handle. So much fun for little ones. My daughter (kindergarten) loves to make up sentences with these. She's even trying to teach my younger daughter to read with them. We opted for magnetic poetry over the dry erase markers for our playroom. Much safer and cleaner.
As a former kindergarten/ first grade teacher, these would be great in the classroom. One box of these and a small magnetic board equals a great independent center!

Really Big Impact . I got it for my nephews and they simply loved it! Thanks to this set they tend to frame sentences during playtime also! I would highly recommend it to parents who may want to accelerate their kids learning process.

These really ARE big. . I ordered the really big words in combination with a couple other sets (poetry and beginning sight words I believe) with the intention of putting them all on the fridge for my little girl to practice "writing" with. Yeah, its not going to work! At least not on one side of the fridge... These are HUGE. The word "flower" for instance is longer than my entire hand. Just a three letter word is longer than one of my fingers - And I have really big hands!
That said, well, at least I can put these on one side of the fridge and it hides the cat/dog/kid noseprints :D And I can clearly read them from the next room...
They are a lot of fun though and the little case they came in is perfect for keeping hair doodads in.
My only real complaint is that a lot of the words are curled on the ends. Particularly some short words like "saw" and some of the suffixes like "ed" or "ing" have the edges curled up so much that they will not lay flat on the fridge at all. I'm sure if I lay them inside a book for a couple of days they'll flatten out though.

Great for OT! . I bought this for my son with Aspergers. He can read and he can write, but he has a problem getting the words from his mind onto paper. He took to this instantly. An added bonus, being able to see his words, he's correcting his own speech! The only problem I have is that it's missing simple words like "did". I was happy to see that it came with "n't" and "es", so you could add onto words. But my son is so funny about things, he refuses just to place a homemade word sign into the sentence. Instead, he will totally change his sentence. That is the ONLY problem I've had with the set. However, I have to give the company credit. They probably never figured on their product being used in this way. IT IS AN AMAZING TOOL FOR MY SON!!! And for that, I am completely satisfied. Now if they will create an 'additional words' kit, life would be perfect. ;o)
Great for Kids . I love these magnetic poetry sets. They're a great addition to any fridge door or other magnetic surface. This Really Big Words version is great for little kids. It's a great way to expand a kid's vocabulary!
Word nerd fun . Well, so far I have "played" with this magnetic poetry kit more than my 5-year-old, but I think once he is more fluent at reading that will change. I love these kits because they make you think about putting words together in ways you might not ordinarily do it. Of course there's always the word you wish were there that isn't... it'd be great if there were a supplementary kit with letters for making your own words (maybe there is and I just haven't looked for it yet). Anyway, a fun kit and the large size of the word magnets is good for kids. One more possibility for improvement: if the magnets were a bit thicker, they'd be easier for a child to manipulate. You kind of have to have fingernails to pull them off the magnetic surface.
Great for beginning readers . The words are great for my 3 year old to build on the sight words he already knows. It's a great mix of first words and more difficult words and I love the large font. I was debating whether I should get "first words" or "really big words" and am very happy with my decision.
Only complaint is that the box holding the words is not very durable. We don't really use the box, but the second time I opened it, the lid fell off. I've been able to put it back on, but it's not sturdy. But, it's not the box that makes this toy fun and educational...it's the magnets.

Great Idea . The big word magnets have great word selection, excellent large scale size, much more attractive on fridge then the coloured alphabet. My 4 year old daughter loves it and the metal case they came in has been a hit.

MY GRANDKIDS LOVE IT!! . I purchased two sets of these, as well as big magnetic dry erase boards. I keep them in my camper, and they truly enjoy playing with them on rainy days at camp.
