Small in size but "fits the bill" . The globe is small compared to most globes. Didn't measure it but it is only about a foot in height and less than a foot in width (considerably smaller than most globes I have seen). I didn't realize the size was going to be small when I purchased it (probably my lack of reading the details). However, it is a perfect size for us. We really didn't need a big globe anyway. So I was actually ecstatic that it was small! This way we have more table space. Also, it has all the info on it that we need (just like other globes). Very happy with the product. (We bought this for a 5 year old whom has shown interest/fascination with globes for the past two years.)
The Perfect Size . I homeschool 4 children and already have so much school "stuff" that I needed a globe that wouldn't take up much room. I was a little worried that the small size would make it difficult to read or see detail but when it arrived I was pleasantly surprised! The names are bold and very readable and the detail is all there. It was a smart purchase.
Good for the price . For $12.99 (shipping included), you get a pretty decent world globe. It only measures 6" in diameter but it has all the information one would need.
Great value. . I have to agree with some other reviews that this globe may not be the most sturdy ever made, but for what it costs vs. what you get it is excellent. Do not be put off by people who say it falls apart. We found it more than durable and did not have any problems with it at all. If you are looking for an illuminated globe that is not expensive, this might be the way for you to go.
Smaller than I thought . The globe was a present for my nephew. I had it shipped to him. I was a little disappointed when my sister told me that it was small enough to fit into his backpack and that they really had to squint to see all the locations on it. I'll have to go and get him another one, larger this time. Probably best for decoration on a desk but not necessarily for a child who needs to study.
Carrie S. . I am very pleased with this product. It is a reasonable size (doesn't consume a desk or shelf) and yet is clearly legible. My children (ages 4 & 7) refer to it all the time when we watch t.v. and there are weather clips or weather stories. I would recommend this globe!
Cons Review
Trekker Globe evaluation . Absolutely not worth the cost! It is so small we can't decipher the countries and other geographical features, so it is useless to our grandchildren. We wasted our money on this item.
trekker globe . Although the globes are easy to "read" in terms of detail I was very disappointed in their size. I had assumed they would be larger but instead their diameter is about 5 inches. Be careful of size if you're ordering this product.
Trekker Globe . I was disappointed with this globe. It is small and not worth the price I paid. I would never order from them again.If I knew it was that small I would have gone to Toys R Us and got one twice the size for the same price.
WAY TOO SMALL . I thought it would be larger. Way too small and can't hardly see anything on the globe. If I knew it was this small, I wouldn't have purchased it.
