Magnetic Poetry Fridge Door Fortune Teller - Eighty magnets that see the answer to all things! Put them on a fridge or filing cabinet with the design side up and the word side down (they stick both ways). To ask them a question, choose one tile of each kind of design, place them in a line point up, and then flip them over. The words that appear will reveal a scrambled answer or clue. For yes/no questions, count yes vs. no on the tiles for a mixed or decisisive answer.

Fun in a Mad Libs Sort of Way... . I think the appropriate rating for this is 3.5 stars, but since they don't do .5 stars on Amazon, I rounded up to 4. :)
This is certainly a cute idea, especially for folks like me who like Tarot. While I think it's fairly obvious that the "fortune telling" abilities of this set is dubious, it makes a cute little campy gift for your collection.
Basically, how it works is there are 80 triangle divided into 4 colors. Each triangle is assigned a "yes" and a "no" and each triangle has 3 words written around the edge. You pick one triangle from each color, flip them over, and read the words along the bottom. Using those words, you piece together your fortune. For example, I just did one on me for this review, and my words were "different," "win," "try," and "hair." Using those 4 words, I derive my fortune (I guess my fortune for today is to try a different hairstyle and I'll be a winner... LOL). Alternatively, you can rely on the "yes" or "no" of each triangle, adding the number of yes and no's to get your answer. So three of my triangles said no, one said yes, the answer would then be "no" (if you get 2 yes and 2 no, that means maybe).
I think you get the idea.
Like all magnetic poetry sets, this is good for a giggle, and that's about it. But really, that's the only reason to buy these, isn't it? ;)
The reason I give it 3.5 stars is because some of the words they pick to be represented on this oracle are bizarre... Like "hair" for instance. But the bigger problem I have is that the colored backing on these triangles peels of *really* easily on my set. The adhesive they used is awful, and I don't see the colored backs staying on for very long at all. If I'd paid $20, I'd have been upset. I plan on getting around this by just gluing it back on, and if you're lazier than me, just keep them word-side-up... But still, it's mildly irritating.
It's campy, retro fun, especially for the Mad Libs crowd. Standard "Magnetic Poetry" fare.
EDIT: It's been a couple of months now, and pretty much all of the stickers have peeled off my magnets. If I could re-rate this at 3, I would.
