Great Learning Tool . My daughter, who is visually impaired, loves this toy. It reads the questions to her and she gets immediate feedback on whether her answer is right or not. She has learned many interesting geography facts. Because it is small, she takes it in the car and on trips.Yes, the voice articulation could be a bit better, but I have found that if you turn down the volume, it is more understandable. My daughter, however, has no trouble understanding the voice.

Great for kids who love geography . My son absolutely loves geography - his favorite bed-time "story" is his atlas - and he loves this toy. We borrowed it from a friend for a weekend, and I'm planning on getting it for him for Christmas. OK, the sound isn't phenomenal, but as others have said kids seem to be able to understand it just fine. I can usually understand it as well. We didn't really depend on the globe to come up with the answers - if he didn't know the answer already, I'd give him hints or if it was completely outside of his realm of knowledge I'd just tell him what the answer was. For the most part I've just taught him names of countries, continents, and oceans, so this was a great way for him to start learning more detail.

GeoSafari is okay . Lots of good info though seems geared toward older kids (and maybe adults;lots of places the parent in this family had never heard of.)

Cons Review
Great Idea--unbelievably bad sound! . I ordered this game for the kids to play over the summer. With over 5,000 geography questions, I was looking forward to it myself! We were all very disappointed to discover that the sound was so bad that we couldn't understand the question most of the time. If you could understand Charlie Brown's teacher, then you'll love this game!
Not what it's promoted to be . This toy is a great idea, poorly executed. The main problem is that about half of the questions asked by the toy CANNOT be answered by looking on the globe. It's simply too small to include rivers, European capitals, mountain ranges, etc. The toy asks such questions anyway. The sound is also so poor that it is occasionally impossible to understand the question. Finally, the globe has no "trackball action," as advertised. It is merely a globe that rolls around in a frame.
Where in the world is the quality . My nephew had the large version and I did not want a huge globe in my house so I bought this hand held version. The sound quality is terrible - I have to often repeat the question, However, my child does not seem to have the same degree of difficulty in hearing it so maybe that varies from person. It is a very durable item, we have it in the car and it has often been stepped on. Also, we leave it there in all sorts of weather and it has shown no ill effects. The globe is VERY small so it is not often helpful in finding the answers. I still like it though because I think it gets them looking at the whole world not just North America when speaking about geography. I would buy this again
