We Love Dinolab . If your family wants to learn dinosaur facts mixed in with "if we could bring them back." Then this video is for you. It is neat to see what "might" be possible. Dino Lab is great for explaining the HOW and the Why, while they follow a worker on his first day of work.
I do suggest a combo purchase with the prehistoric park series.
Our 4 year old LOVES dino lab. YES I SAID 4. He also loves prehistoric park, prehistoric earth, jurassic fight club, walking with Dinosaurs, and jurassic park (1-2-3.)
Unlike the previous reviewer he knows FULL well, at 4, Dinosaurs can not survive in todays atmosphere. He likes to watch the biomechanics and special effects. He loves to watch the "making of" vidoes at the end of all the DVDs before he watches the actual programs.
He finds programs like "land before time" are not accurate. He knows full well the real dinos would never "hang out," let alone talk.

Cons Review
Dino Lab Confused Our Kids . Dino Lab is fun to watch, but it caused our children to believe that there were living T-Rex's that must be contained behind high voltage cages for safety. Scientists are followed around as they report to work where living dinosaurs exist. The narrator reports about the dinosaurs and the dangers -- as if it were all real. It is the same narrator that is often used on other science shows aired by discovery, all in all it was all very confusing for the kids. It appears to be designed to make such a confusion likely. For us, we had a hard time explaining why the Discovery channel was making it seem like this was real; and assuring them that most discovery shows were REAL. It was awful.
