Ello? Where are you? . This is one of my favorite toys for girls and boys (though it is marketed to girls only). Great building sets, easy to do for kids ages 5 and older but even my 3 year old boy loves it. Lets the kids use their imagination rather than requiring them to build the items in a specific way. I have bought several sets for my daughter.
Now I want to get it as a gift for one of her friends who loves to make stuff and I am having a very hard time finding it. The small travel sets seem to be somewhat available, but the larger sets are practicly non-existent now. What's going on with Mattel? Are they phasing this toy out??? If so, it's really too bad. I think it wasn't advertised well enough because everyone we've ever given it to (and that includes quite a few birthday girls) had never heard of it but LOVED it!

this stuff is great . I have a seven year old who got some of this ello stuff for christmas and she went crazy for it!!! She loves it, she has been constantly showing me the things she has made....pencil pots, condo's, fishtanks!!!!!!!!!
All I want is for the matel to make this stuff easier to find!!!!

My family loves Ello.s . We all have spent time playing with our daughters Ello's. She loves them and she uses her imagination.

ELLO IS SO MUCH FUN FOR ME AND MY SISTER! . Just because, our dad got us a Ello set (Fairytopia or something) and it is SOOO fun. You don't only have to follow the suggestions--we made a ton of different things! It's kind of like Legos, but waaay better because some things are hard to make with Legos. In Ello, there's large pieces that you can make a building out of, fancy shapes to decorate the building with (or make jewelry out of! Or furniture! Or...anything!) and even pieces to custom make your Ello person with.
And believe it or not, I'm already 11 years old and I still enjoy Ello. My sister is already 7, and she plays with the set all the time.
Ello might not be educational, but it really sparks a child's imagination. Sometimes I go and see what my sister has done. It's really interesting to see the ideas she has.
The quality is also very good. The plastic is thick and durable, yet slightly bendable.
We're definitely going to get an additional set!
