Cons Review

An Inexpensive Mistake . I bought this pen for my daughter as this was something she really wanted. Unfortunately it only worked for about 10 minutes prior to the light becoming inoperable. I went out and bought new batteries (3 x watch batteries) but the light on the pen still did not work. So at $1.00 per minute, this was a pretty expensive toy. To prevent disappointment, I would strongly recommend that you stay away from this product. I have already requested to return this product to Amazon. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Barely worked and then only for a few minutes . Thankfully this was inexpensive. The ink was so dried out it would barely write. The light had to be wiggled, jolted, and shaken constantly for it to work, and when it did work it had to be squeezed so hard that my 9 yr old daughter could barely do it. It quit writing and light quit working within a few hours. This pen is total junk.

My daugter really wanted this so I wound up buying Wild Planet Secret Agent Pen 2 Pack for her after this one hit the trash, in hopes at least one would work. I was pleasantly suprised when both worked great and still work. I would HIGHLY recomend buying that option instead of the one listed on this page.

Fun for kids useful for adults . My son saw a pen similar to this at his school's book fair. By the time I was able to visit the book fair with him these pens were gone. Thankfully I found these and ordered them for both my son and daughter. My son (9 years) absolutely loved this pen and had a fun time drawing on things and then showing us his creations by using the special light. I think these would also be great for adults to use to mark products without it showing. But then you could see it when needed with the special light. The pens were very sturdy and seem to stand up to a lot of use.

I didn't purchase this as a "toy" see review below . I haven't used it yet, I purchased it for my wedding invitations to code the back of the response cards in case guests forget to include their names. It arrived quickly and in new condition as advertised. I look forward to using this and anticipate it will be exactly as advertised! Thank you!
