A great purchase! . I bought this toy for my 3 yr old nephew. I love the fact that along with teaching about healthy eating, it also teaches about numbers, fractions, etc. The pieces are a good size and easy for small hands to hold on to. Toys like these are a win/win.. My sister in law loved that I bought him an educational toy, which was also a safe toy for his age. Her and I both liked that it promotes healthy eating, learning about colors, fruit, numbers and fractions all in one toy. For the price $15.00-$16.00 range, you can't go wrong. Great toy!
Learning Resources Smart Snacks Counting Fun Fruit Bowl Reviews
Great multi-function toy . I have a 1.5 yr old and a 2.5 yr old. Both enjoy playing with this toy. It is well constructed and durable. The numbers are clear and the magnets work well. My 2.5 yr old does know how to count, however, she has difficulty putting the "sliced" fruit together correctly because there is only one way each one can be put together.

For example- the apple is cut into 5 pieces (i think) and on each wedge there are protruding seeds and a number (1 through 5.) The neighboring wedge has grooves for the seeds. So next to the number 1, and one seed, is the wedge with one groove. My daughter doesnt understand that the wedge with grooves for five seeds cant go next to the four protruding seeds. Sounds complicated.. but really its a minor problem and Im sure once my daughter is a bit older she will get it. She still has fun with it.. she loves to 'cut' the fruit up and serve it.

I highly recommend this toy along with the others in this line.
Learning Resources Smart Snacks Counting Fun Fruit Bowl Opinions
We LOVE smart snacks !! . Smart snacks have quickly become my favorite toy to play with my 3 1/2 year old son and this one is no exception!
The fruits are held together with strong magnets. They feature "seeds" to count on each one as well as the actual number. Fitting them together gives you a bit of a puzzle (for example #1 only "fits" with #5's seeds).
There is a lot of educational value here beyond counting as well. We talk about fresh fruit and it's nutritional value(s), where it comes from, what animals like it, etc. And of course they make great pretend snacks for teddy bears, dinosaurs or whomever else happens to be hungry!
Smart snacks remain at the top of my list for fun and educational toys. They are a little expensive (for what they are) but well worth it in my opinion!
we love smart snacks but not this banana . as a preschool teacher with a 2 year old i love all of these smart snack toys. we started with the ice cream set (the rubbery material that they are made from is awesome) and we are slowly collecting the whole set for my son's play kitchen.as other reviews have said: i love the size and weight, perfect for little hands; i love the counting seeds paired with the numeral; i love that it's a set of healthy fruit; i love the puzzle aspect; my son loves to mix up the fruit salad in the huge mixing bowl!i DO NOT however, like the banana at all. all of the other peices of fruit (except for the strawberry) feature tangible seeds that the child can count and associate with the printed number, however the banana only has the number: no seeds. all of the other fruits have magnets to hold them together when the child gets them in the right order; the banana must be forced together, and even when forced the lines of the peel don't line up which makes you think you've done it improperly.
i've put the banana away, if it wasn't for the fact that we'd be missing #3 in the set i would have thrown it out. it's frustrating and isn't the same quality as the rest of the set and the smart snacks line.
Awesome toy . I saw this at my friend's house and had to have it. It's got magnet inside (except for the banana which just fits like Lego) so they'll stick to each other making it a whole. I don't think my 2 year old son gets a concept of fraction but he likes to pretend he's eating it, count, putting it together and taking a part to share with his stuffed animals or me.
Great toy . I love toys that are fun and educational. I wish the magnets were a little stronger to hold the pieces together but I love the concept and the quality is excellent.
3 yr old loves it . this would be 5 stars except for the banana - I found the banana nearly impossible to put together and take apart - the 3 yr old couldn't do it. I'm not talking about a snug fit I'm talking about nearly needing a vice and hammer type strength! the 3 with the magnets are totally awesome and he loved putting those together - didn't take him long with a little help. He knew all the names but the plum - don't think he's eaten that before - but he pretended to eat the fruit then put it in the bowl then took all apart(except the banana!) and started tossing in the bowl for a fruit salad (he had also gotten a pizza and bday cake set from others for his bday and was using the spatulas from those)

anyways he was pretty focused with these for a while and the older kids played with them as well for a while because they liked the magnet features - went back to the room and noticed the banana had been tossed aside finally! I really really wish they'd made the banana magnetic as well.
