Lots of fun . I was worried about this since some of the reviewers were disappointed. My kids(10 and 12) and myself loved it. Out of 2 boxes only one geode was bad, meaning it did not have crystals in it but was interesting anyway. All the rest had crystals and I mean good crystals. This was so much fun my kids want me to get more and I probably will.

Fun . These were a lot of fun. They are not the greatest geodes but they are fun and educational. Some had none inside but a few had a bit.
Lots of fun beautiful leftovers . A friend got this for me as a gift, and I had a blast smashing them open. With the exception of one or two smaller rocks, all were the size of a golf-ball or larger, and there weren't any duds in the package--all had some type of crystalline formation inside. Two or three of the geodes cracked open into remarkably pretty pieces that are sitting on my windowsill now.
Little kids will definitely need an adult's help with this (and be sure to do it outside since you'll need to sweep up lots of fragments afterward), but I don't know one that wouldn't love it regardless. Tons of lasting fun for not much money--this is my new go-to present for little cousins.
