Pretty impressive . You know, I had my doubts about this. I mean seriously, it comes in a ziplock bag with a small spoon , instructions, and water cleaner. But I have to say that it does everything it says. Within a day of spooning about three clumps of eggs in my Sea Monkey Executive Set I had literally a swarm of life.
This is far easier and more efficient to buy than the refill packs from the main company, as you can use as many eggs as you want.

WOW . I got three packages of this formula, which came in a plastic bag with very simple instructions, i used the half on a sea pet aquarium to create a new colony, i got kind of scared because the eggs didn't hatch the same day... desperately i used a little bit more of the formula, for my surprise on the next morning i could see MILLIONS of tiny little sea monkeys swimming everywhere! It's such a great thing! hehe! i've had my aquarium for three weeks now and i got to have about 60 adult sea monkeys, now they had babies! Millions and millions of them! hehe! i guess i need a bigger aquarium now!
Totally recommended! very fun to see, they actually have kind of a sexual ritual to put the eggs on the others tail! hehe!
My recommendation, use just the half of one of the packs, if they don't hatch instantly wait for a couple of days because they will!

It works alright!! . Welp, if you read the reviews - they're all true. In a nutshell: 1.) Only add a small amount, to either a new tank or a pre-existing Sea-Monkey tank. 2.) Wait overnight. 3.) A plethora of new Sea-Pets!! One tank of mine has just The Swarm, and they're going crazy. They are very happy. The other tank I have some Sea-Monkeys in it already, and they've taken to the Swarm-Monkeys like they're family, and they're all excited by the newbies. This is great, cos I love Sea-Monkeys for my cubicle at work - but the Magic Castle set and the Sunken Treasure set both arrived with only one or two Monkeys surviving, and it was a real drag - not to mention a waste of money. The Swarm has a TON of Monkeys, and you can put in just a tiny amount and still get a lot of Swarm-Monkeys!! I really, really suggest trying out only the smallest amount possible at first, because there are quite literally a swarm of Monkeys, and it can be staggering!! Highly, highly recommended - especially if you feel like you've bought a nice aquarium with disapointing results. Every review here on Amazon says it like it is. The Swarm is the real deal, no question. Five Stars.
works well but only use a scoop or two . i was skeptical, but i bought this as a sea monkey refill. it came with a lot of food (2-3 times a "sea monkey" food packet), a scoop and a big packet of eggs, but minimal instructions. i put in just a small scoop or two, expecting it to be just a couple of sea monkeys. the tank is now swarming will tons of sea monkeys! (you have to wait a day or two.) a lot more that my original sea monkey tank when i first started it.
i think your best bet is to buy swarm and its products, but to go to the sea monkey website to find out how to use them. or use this as a refill.

Kind of fun but flawed . I enjoy raising Sea Monkeys, so I was tempted by the description of the Swarm kit. Though it does indeed produce a LOT of pets quickly, they didn't seem to grow as fast as sea monkeys, and they all died off within a week despite my careful efforts. The instructions with the packet are way too vague, and the feeding "spoon" is just a cut-off tip of a drinking straw, with no indication of how much food they need. I think the Swarm kit may be good for adding a scoop to revitalize an existing sea monkey tank, but on its own it just seems unstable (and the weak instructions definitely make this a bad choice for children). And at more than double the cost of a basic, no-tank Sea Monkey kit, it just isn't worth it.
Great for pre-existing tanks. . I put a scoop in my already established sea monkey tank, and now have fully grown swarm in it. They are slightly smaller than sea monkeys, but that's not really saying much as sea monkeys themselves are tiny pets. It came with a lot more food than the sea monkey kit, but then there are a lot more of them! The food is, however, more messy. It tints the water slightly green (until they have finished eating of course), but they like it a lot more and after researching I believe it's more healthy than the dried up yeast and spirulina powder sea monkeys come with.
My only complaint is the directions- I bought two packages intending to start up a new, bigger, tank. The instructions read "SHAKE Add a little or a lot to 12oz clean water. You can add to existing tank or create a new one by adding a bit more formula." I would have liked something more specific than that! I got a vase full of the babies, a ridiculous amount actually, but the ones in the vase died off after a week. I have two or three lone survivors in it now, and I'm pretty sure they only just hatched recently since I never cleaned out the water, and it has some healthy algae growth (which is very good for them.)
Overall however I'd have to say this product is overpriced- if you have a sea monkey tank you can buy artemia/brine shrimp eggs/cysts (all the same thing) and you can even experiment with the different species, since you already have the right concentration of salt. For five dollars you can buy a big tube of pure eggs. One scoop with the small end of the sea monkey spoon and you'll have a swarm just as you will with this product. You can even buy pure spirulina powder to feed them at pet stores, or on ebay or amazon. Heck, if you do the research, you can make up a very nice, big tank, with instant ocean mix and the pure eggs. It all depends on if you want a nice science experiment, a hobby, or just a 'toy'.

So much better than Sea-monkeys! . I bought this for my little son because he was sad about his small family of sea-monkeys dieing out. When it came in the mail it looked very neat and professional. I read the instructions and helped him pour the packets in. In a few days, the tank was full of sea-monkeys! it was amazing! We only poured half of the packet and theres atleast triple the amount of seamonkeys. They also grew somewhat bigger, and still reproducting today.

Great First Pet! . This is a great pet for little kids. There's not too much care needed and getting started is really easy. I've had great results with this kit, and way more luck than I've had with sea monkeys! Makes a good classroom experiment/pet or just a fun colony of pets for kids to watch at home!
kids at school were amazed . My son took a tank to school and the teacher added water and a bit of the swarm from the zip pack and later in the week there they were! the other classes had to come over to view all the action! we harvested some and sent them home with kids that were interested ... very very cool... thanks
