Possibly Boring . This is a pretty good kit overall, especially for my daughter who loves rocks and crystals. However, there is no instant gratification that is normally demanded by a 7 year old. You will need old pickle jars (or equivalent) right out of the gate. Of course, we did not have any handy. Then you mix certain items together and essentially wait a day or two. Also, some of the items can be hazardous so keep this in mind if you have little ones.
