This is a great hand held microscope for viewing any "herbs" for anything you want to see on them. I always just put the magnify to 100x, use the light always and, focus in on the region I want to view. Potentcy, disese, bugs, and clarity of the trichomes is all easily viewed by this tool. I have seen great things with this tool and anyone who has alot of "herbs" around, should consider having a pocket microscope to become more educated on quality. Three small watch type batts. power the bright white LED and any of the 60x,80x, and 100x magnify are well lit. Focusing is very simple and begineers can learn more about the "herbs" they come across.
