Is there anything water can’t do?

This review is from : Elmer's Education Mythbusters Weird World of Water
Finally a science kit that worlks . Bought this for my eight year old son. He could do the experiments by himself and enjoyed them. We've bought many other kits that just fell apart. This one was durable and fun. We'll probably pick up a couple for gifts for his friends.
Elmer's Education Mythbusters Weird World of Water Reviews
Who wrote the instructions? . I don't know who wrote the instructions, but complete steps certainly would help. I advised my son to get his feet wet with the easiest experiment first: making different sugar water solutions, adding food coloring, then adding one to the other drop by drop to create a liquid rainbow as the colors separate out due to differing water densities. Not too difficult and visually rewarding. However, when you have to fight the instructions each step of the way the fun dissipates fairly quickly. Step one states to pour 1 tablespoon of water in the cylinder, but the picture shows the water poured into one of the 1-liter bottles in the kit. Which is it, the cylinder or the bottle? Well, since one tablespoon of water doesn't even fill the five feet protruding at the base of the bottle we opted for the cylinder. Also, the instructions do specifically state cylinder and there is a cylinder in the kit. The cylinder is the wrong choice, but you don't discover the mistake until a few steps later. At which point, you have to start over. Another step instructs you to add a tablespoon of sugar to cups of clear and yellow water. The child is not instructed to mix it or let the sugar sit in an undissolved pile at the bottom of the cup. I advised my son to stir the water until the sugar was completely dissolved, which he did. Since the object of the experiment was to establish different water densities, this seemed what the designers of the kit want the child to do. After a tedious half hour spent adding first the clear then the yellow solution drop by drop to the red water, my son ended up with a cylinder/bottle of uniformly pale red sugar water. No rainbow. No fun. Was he supposed to leave the solutions unmixed? Was he supposed to use all the food coloring provided in the kit or just a few drops to change the color of the water? Who knows? And I don't blame him for not caring enough to repeat the now boring (instead of fun) experiment to find out where things went wrong. And all this disappointment because the instructions are more interested in being quippy and cute rather than complete. You have to love the irony of step six: "Repeat the above step with the yellow sugar water. Isn't that colorful?" No, it's not.
Elmer's Education Mythbusters Weird World of Water Opinions
Great gift for inquiring minds . My nine year old loves this gift. He's a fan of the show and loves its theory and the "build" aspects. This item has the same. The experiments both stimulate and satisfy his curiosity.
Excellent Product! . My Boys LOVE Mythbusters and this kit is great. My boys are 6 and 9. The 6 year old would not have been able to do the kit by himself, but with the help of his 9 year old brother, they had a blast.
Great for Young Scientists! . This is a fantastic science kit for young inquiring minds. Nearly all the adults and kids I know loves the show Mythbusters. My nephew had gotten a couple of these Mythbusters science kits and he loves them! This one is fantastic for exploring the power of water.
Great Fun... it was a hit for a Christmas gift . Gave this as a gift to my friend. He and his kids are having a ball with it. That is all I know.
A Blast (off)! . We had a great time with this set. My 8 year old son, who is a HUGE fan of Mythbusters, was very excited to get this for Christmas. Our favorite so far has been the rocket. Now, as with most kits, you could do all of these activities without the kit and you do have to provide some of your own materials from home (vingar, baking soda, etc,) but the fun of the Mythbusters brand and the little booklet make this worth the small price. It's not science class and it's not majorly educational, but the reactions are explained and your kid may walk away having learned something in the end. If they don't, it's still fun, easy and pretty darn cool. I would certainly recommend for a science fair project or just for a kid who wants to have some Mythbuster-type fun!
Mythbusters . My son hasn't gotten a chance to do more then one experiment but he really loves the show and had fun with the first try.

Cons Review
My son loved this. Paying for the name. . My son loves the show, loved playing with this. Fancy packagaing for crafts that could have been bought for under $3.Then you add some of your own. Used it all up in about 4 days.Fragments left here and there. I would buy a book on science experiments and do them, but it was a gift, he loved getting it and playing with it. He is 12.
mythbuster world of water . The packaging is great, but not worth the price. There are like 3 experiments in the entire package. Was duped into buying all 3 because of a cheaper price, but not worth it dollar wise. The experiments were cool and fun but repeats of experiments they do in school. Quality of the items in the package is great. I would probably not buy another mythbuster though.
