pretty cool accesory for the eye clops . If you are going to purchase the eye clops, this accesory kit is a must-have. At first I thought there was nothing to see on the map and it was no good..til I found my first hidden phrase. It is a good value for the money and a great addition to the purchase of the eye clops. They should sell this with the eye clops because it is really pretty cool to explore the maps and find hidden stuff on them!

rip off!!! . I ordered this item together with the two EyeClops magnifiers. I wasn't sure what to expect, but at $32 (more expensive than either of the actual Eyeclops') I assumed it would be something fairly worthwhile - the Eyeclops magnifiers are a lot of fun...This "kit" consists of a few sheets of paper with printed drawings and maps. The kids lost interest within minutes. Had it been priced at about $4.95, it would not have been a disapointment...at $32, IT IS ABSURD! In fact, I assumed that I had received the wrong product, and wrote the seller an unkind note, accusing them of "bait and switch"... Now, having taken the time to read the item's description, I realize that I was wrong, and that the "activity kit" is just woefully over-priced...a rip-off of another kind. I must say again, though, that the other Eyeclops products are a good value...these maps and posters, however, should be included "free with Eyeclops purchase".

Fun accessory for EyeClops cameras . We've had a lot of fun using this activity kit with our EyeClops BioniCam. (By the way, I highly recommend getting that specific version of the toy because it operates untethered from a TV screen, unlike the original EyeClops Bionic Eye Multizoom.)
This activity kit contains 8 sheets of paper with microprinted text and images on it. Using the BioniCam, you are led through treasure hunts, jokes and fact-finding. The Bionicam is potentially educational, but this specific activity kit is really just a fun diversion that gives you something to look at with the Bionicam. Bringing the microscopic images into view is pretty cool though.
I can see how some reviewers would think this kit was a waste of money. There's room here for personal preference and I agree that the kits were originally overpriced. I'd rate this at ten bucks' worth of fun, so if you can get it at a reasonable price, I'd say go for it.

We have not tried it out in a car or airplane but I have a feeling that the vibration would make it either impossible or headache-inducing to read the magnified microtext. Also, the EyeClops itself is pretty bulky and seems a bit fragile. But we are enjoying the camera and activity kit over summer vacation.

A nice addition to the Eyeclops . I was lucky enough to get this before they raised the price, around $13 I payed. I certainly wouldn't pay more for it, but if you could find this at the lower price or on sale, it is a nice addition to the Eyeclops. I would recommend this to an older child who is a mystery solver kind of child. Children who do not have the patience such as the type of child I mention above may decide it is not interactive enough. My daughter is very much into finding clues and solving mysteries and thought this item was "cool". My husband also wanted to try it out and found it interesting.
Do NOT Buy at $44 actual price much less. . I was shocked at the price on this listing. I purchased this at Target last year for about $[...]. Look elsewhere on Amazon or other sites. I can't understand the $[...] price as this is just paper maps on which to find clues with Eyeclops.
As far as the product itself, we think it is very innovative and fun. You cannot see any of the clues with the naked eye. You must line Eyeclops up correctly and surprise - all of a sudden there are words to read. Be patient, it may take a few tries to get it just right.

works well with the Eyeclops . I bought this to go with the Eyeclops I puchased...its a good purchase because its specifically designed for the Eyeclops...I got it fairly inexpensively, so I think it was a good deal, but if you have to pay full price it can be rather expensive and therefore not such a great deal...my son has spent a lot of time playing with the activity pack, it is quite educational also....
Engh - good and bad . First, I bought it for my 6 yr. old thinking it would be somewhat challenging but not so much so he'd lose interest. He pretty much did with the maps, probably better for an older child who understands the time it takes to "hunt" for clues. If mine stumbled on something neat he'd get excited but otherwise he had more fun putting the Eye-Clops on things like carpet fibers, his sister hair, a stuffed animal, the leaf of a plant, his skin, oh and up his nose. :) You can really see great detail with the Eye-Clops, but if that's more the level of interest, may as well get a quality microscope and forget the sheets of paper with the tiny clues. So...good and bad, like another reviewer said, better for an older child/the right person, otherwise as a set, it's rather tedious.
eye clops kit . my kids first played with this at their cousins house, and had a lot of un with it. so, when i saw it while christmas shopping, i knew it would be a big hit.
Cons Review
Cool--for just the right person-- . I have two boys, ages 10 and 7. My 10 year old was able to follow the treasure hunt clues on the treasure "map" but the hunt was anti-climactic. My 7 year old wasn't able to find the clues on his own and became frustrated. This would be a great gift for an 8 or 9 year old who has patience with detail.
I would rate the eye-clops itself much higher. Everyone in our family has enjoyed looking at things with the eye-clops!
