fun for 5 years old maybe even better for older ones . My 5 years old niece loved it.
It is a good way to start telling them how moving pictures work.
The led and the looking hole is not really necessary, the effect works w/o those, but at night it makes it even more appealing.
The screw at the middle of the stand is probably unnecessary, and the whole thing would probably not last long in the little hands... but it is fun for her and for older kids the templates can be even more fun and more educational.
I actually packed it away and will break it out for her again once she is a bit older.
p.s. It could be improved if the way to replace the paper disc would be easier and less prone to tear the paper / break the toy, but at least my niece was able to learn to do that quickly and w/o breaking anything. Definitely not recommended for smaller ones.

Terrific . I teach animation to kids and this is a really fun one for them to do. They always think it's pretty cool to see the animation in the reflection & create their own loops. The little led light never really worked and it's hard to keep it from bending but it's been handled by lots of kids, so maybe just for 1-2 kids it would stand up a bit longer.
