Great for studying . I found this very helpful studying for an osteology course. I had to mark some of the foramina and canals with a dark pen to be able to visualize them better, as some of them did not perforate all the way through. The hooks holding on the calvaria bent right away so take care with it. I figure a course costs X amount of dollars, and books are X amount, this was a bargain and saved me having to try to find time to go sit in the bone lab on campus. I am a disabled adult student and the convenience of being able to handle a life-sized skull to learn from is a great thing. My whole family has enjoyed poking about it also.

Great for the price-- pretty accurate . I bought this to study for my anatomy lab for professional school. The skull is surprisingly accurate considering its price and material. Obviously a hundred dollar skull will be more detailed and legit-looking than this skull (and closer to what your test will be on in med/health schools) but this gets the job done. The top part of the skull is detachable, as you can tell from the item's main pic. Also, if you mess around with the wire attaching the mandible, you can easily detach and reattach the mandible. A few of the teeth also come out, although the teeth aren't all that detailed. The foramen all seem to be there, although not all of them are complete holes (can't poke anything through some of them besides major one but you can tell they are supposed to be foramen, ie mental foramen). The bones sutures and such are pretty close to the real skulls with the exception of the location of the pterion. I also noticed the hamulus is not as pronounced as it should be. Some of the positioning of the bones are also a bit awkward but you can still study from them and tell what they are. For example, the nasion is a horizontal line on this skull, but on a real skull, it wouldn't look so neat and perfectly drawn. My only complaint is that some plastic is a little messed up in one of the parts of the skull. It hasn't affected the clarity of the structures, but little pieces of plastic get all over my hands. Perhaps this happened as a result of shipping the item? It is not a big enough of a concern to make me return the skull.This skull is a lifesaver and helps me avoid going to school to study the skull in bone lab. It's probably more accurate than its similarly priced competitors, based on the reviews of the other skulls. Now, I can study in the comfort of my own home. :)

plastic skull . Not a bad product for the price; the issue I have is with the bite...the upper teeth and lower teeth meet exactly, giving a weird sense of what normal bites for humans really are. Otherwise, good for resource for my forensic work.
