the photo is misleading . I received the product with a totally different base. The base I received is tiny and difficult for the globe to stand on it. I contacted CNS and they said the model in this photo is no longer available (so why do you still have the picture and are selling it???). I got a full refund but feel unhappy and very inconvienent from this purchase experience.
I don't think it's responsible to give the customer wrong info. I do believe what I see in the picture should be what I will receive.
If you like the globe and don't care what kind of base you will receive, this globe is a perfect toy/gift. If not, think twice.

Complete waste of time effort & material. . Do not waste your time getting this product. The globe has almost zero educational value with an inaccurate map & a large gap separating the halves of the globe at the equator. The globe rotates on a black cylinder, giving none of the promised illusion of floating. If that mechanism had been clear or transparent, then the manufacturers could have been said to have made an effort to live up to their claims.
Thankfully Amazon processes refunds promptly.

great globe . My daugther had a 6th grade project. We used this globe as part of it and it was fantastic. The battery life was great, it was still turning after a week of continuous use at school. The kids in school kept asking, "How is it turning?" They thought it was really beautiful. These projects are voted on by the students and my daughter won by a record breaking landslide! I think so much of it had to do with the globe being the focal point. The detail is great and I know personally that 325 kids think it is super cool!

Does not levitate . The product description describes this as having electromagnetic levitation.The globe not only comes with a different base than pictured, but it physically sits on the base and mechanically rotates.There is no levitation as described in two of the product features statements. The product description from the manufacturer even states that it has an "Advanced magnetic drive" but it is simple gear driven rotation.The globe tends to fall off of the crystal base easily that is actually supplied, but when placed directly onto a desktop it is fairly stable and makes a nice decoration that rotates and is also reversible in direction.
