Finally a diary for boys! . Our son has been asking for a diary for a long time. We looked at toy stores, at book stores and at his school book fair. Every one we found was pink and sparkly, or had girl themed covers. On a whim I searched Amazon and found this diary.
It came this week and our son was thrilled and surprised. I showed him how to use the little lock and where "we" will hide the keys. He ran off right away to write in it.
The book itself is well made - a hardback type cover with lined pages inside. The binding is nice - no pages trying to escape. The obvious attraction for kids will be the "keep out" and "do not enter" signs on the front. The lock is a little junky, like the other reviewer said, but that isn't a big deal for us. If it breaks, we'll just buy him a small lock to replace it. For this price I don't expect to find a high dollar lock on the diary.
The price of $9.99 plus free SuperSaver shipping (for orders over $25) made this a good deal. Especially if you've been unable to find a boy-themed diary locally.

Joshua's top sectret lock and key diary . At first I was not sure if my 8 year old son would make use of this diary. I have noticed that whenever he is upset or even extremely exited that he likes to write down his thoughts. I would recomend this to anyone. Great price.... Good deal....

AWSOME! . it is awsome i use it wheni play spys i write all of my notes in it and its awsome
The padlock is a joke. . My son was so excited to buy this journal with his own money and it came at great disappointment. Although the journal itself is cute and appears well made, the padlock was AWFUL. The padlock was broken within 10 minutes of using it with the key. It appeared very flimsy and the lock stripped easily. And of course, this happened when the journal was closed and locked, so there was no way to use it that evening. Thank goodness for our local hardware store who cut the lock off for free and we bought another sound lock. Don't waste your money on this unless you are prepared to purchase a lock that lasts.
Journal . I bought this for my grandson and he loved it! Good idea for kids to have a place to write down their thoughts and wishes.

Excellent . My 12 year old son wanted something to write in and lock up, I had no idea they made these for boys. But it's perfect and he really likes it.
