It's alive! . I read the first review and was put off but after having one for a month and loving every bit of it I have to tell everyone this tank is NOT big enough for Goldfish but it is PERFECT for Guppies and other small fish. When buying my fish it was easy enough to ask the man at the pet shop what would thrive in such a small habitat. I was given several fish that would work but this Guppy caught my eye, since then he's been my desk buddy. He is happy as can be and I have no complaints. It adds life to my otherwise sterile lifeless desk.
Bottom line: I love it! (don't use goldfish dummy)

Good but not perfect. . The first one I received had a leak at the base of the water spicket where the water goes back into the tank. It got water all in the accessory holder side and it leaked onto my desk. These things happen. The replacement works well enough but it has a flaw as well, but not worth me making a second return. The temperature gauge is wrong. It claims it is 81.5 degrees. I don't know if it's supposed to be outside temp or water temp, but either way that is impossible. It is 70 degrees in my house and there is no heater in the tank. It is out of the sunlight and the water is cool. I also expected the screen backlight to be on like in the picture, but it only comes on if you're changing settings.
The USB cord is ridiculously short. I needed an extension usb cable.
This is a neat little tank, however. It is good for one small fish, like a guppy, tetra, or glofish. It is NOT good for a goldfish or a better. It is too small, plus goldfish are really dirty fish, especially for a tank without good filtration.

Nice with a little modification. . This is a very nice looking little tank, I have had mine for about a month and it is still going strong. I have 2 ghost shrimp and a mystery snail housed in mine. I would not recommend putting anything much bigger in there. You might be able to get away with a couple small tetras or guppies tho.
It is a very small tank, so do not expect to house a goldfish or beta humanely in this.(as the above ranter mentioned goldfish need way more space and are really dirty fish so need a powerful filter) Their is no actual filtration on this tank when it arrives , so my water began to get a bit cloudy after a week. I added a bit of activated charcoal and a biosponge underneath the plastic grate that holds the gravel off of the pump so that the water has to be pulled through that before it is pumped back to the top and my water has been crystal clear since. I also cut a small square of black plastic mesh to make a little lid for this so my critters could not escape, and to keep my cats from drinking the water.

Terribly low quality product . This is marketed as a desktop aquarium, but actually it is just a toy. The quality is terrible, the material used for this product is very cheap. And it is very small.

junk . i purchased this for my grandkids for christmas. looked like a nice item but the aerator only lasted two days. other than that it's fine.
Desktop tank . The tank looks amazing on my desk and it brings great conversation arround the office. Many have come by and complemented me on it.
Not Really a toy . My only complaint is I wish it had a USB hub built in, otherwise it works wonderfully. And it is the perfect size for just one or two fish
Ended up only as a fish tank. . At first I was using it as a clock but an alarm kept going off forcing me to remove the batteries then the cable for the filter and light went bad. After one month it still houses a betta fish that loves the tank but I plan on upgrading to a larger tank in the near future.
Neat Aquarium But Forget the Rest . I bought two of these aquariums. They both had the same problem; after a few days, the time/date/day display quit working and with the second one, the nature sounds came on all by themselves and could not be turned off or changed. The batteries had to be removed to stop the sound of crickets invading my house. The aquarium section seems to work fine and my little crowntail betta loves it. But I am sending it back and will not reorder another one - once bitten, twice shy. Amazon is great at accepting returns within 30 days, no questions asked and they even schedule the UPS pickup for me. Bottom line - don't waste your money. Use a betta vase instead. Having the betta next to the computer to watch is quite soothing.
Cute Fun and Colorful! . I've had this product for a couple days now, everything came as said nothing was broken or not working. The tank part was indeed small, but it is surprisingly roomy for my veiltail beta fish. One thing I have noticed is that the thermostat seems fairly accurate about the water temp, but when I checked it with another thermometer it does tend to be off by a few degrees. The filter, though mild, does do a good job of cycling the water. Its strong enough to keep the water pretty clean, but mild enough not to stir up my little fish.All in all a great little aquarium for apartment dwellers or anyone that would like to add some color to their space.
