This review is from : Smithsonian Smithsonian Micro Prehistoric Sea Monsters
Bought it for self interest . I used to enjoy these pets as a kid, and I found this for 12.99 at a local Micheal's shop. The instructions were simple. Simply wash the sand before putting it into the aquarium, then put distilled water (I put bottled spring water) and then toss in half of the eggs. I waited less than 24 hours there they were! This is the most exciting pet to enjoy.Ignore the 1 star review, it has zero logic. It's true that family of triops do come from sea water.Sit down and enjoy your new pet! You won't regret it!The package comes with limited supply of food; however if you want to continue providing them with food supply; go to your nearest local pet shop. Sinking pellets (smallest ones you can get) are the best way to go.Have fun!

sea monsters . I LOVE THESE THINGS! They are so much fun and my children loved them. perfect first pet for little ones

Smithsonian Smithsonian Micro Prehistoric Sea Monsters Reviews
Triops are not "Sea" Monsters . Though it is marketed as such, this product cannot be educational- Triops are not "Sea" monsters. They live in fresh water, in ephemeral habitats, and they are crustaceans.

Buy them somewhere else, this packet is misleading.

Cute Locking Diary . This is a great diary. The size makes it easily hideable (but not so small that it's awkward) and the lock makes it super secret. The pictures on the cover are very cute and bright.

Very cute diary . Very cute and well-constructed diary for children. Now, if I could just get one my daughter wouldn't lose the key too!

Cheap Little Labs Weather Science

Price : $16.99

Little Labs Weather Science - Investigate weather with experiments on wind, rain, storms, clouds, rainbows, temperature, evaporation, pressure and more. 16-page color guidebook included.

Feature Little Labs Weather Science

• Weather Science
• Original best selling series
• Little Labs
• Experiment on wind, rain, storms, clouds, and more
• Investigate weather

This review is from : Little Labs Weather Science
Good weather discovery . My eight year old loves this toy. You can put it outside to measure rainfall, temperature, and to see how fast the wind is blowing. It comes with suction cups to attach outside. Only problem I found was that if it was too windy, the suction cups don't necessarily hold it down and it blows over. That problem is disappointing. Good for science experiments as long as it does not blow over.

Little Labs Weather Science Reviews
nice but could have been better . My seven year old loved this but it wasn't exactly durable outdoors and also the explanations provided for the experiments were a little week. Definitely a good starter point but you will need to do more online research for the experiments to be explained properly.

Cons Review

Pretty but lock broke . The diary came securely packaged and everything was intact. The diary and the lock are very pretty and the paper feels durable. However, the lock broke within 4-5 lock/unlock attempts. I tried to get it back together, but no luck. I wish I had read the other reviews for the same diary/company but different design. Almost all of them said the lock is cheap and breaks easily. Don't buy this if you have a problem going out and picking up a luggage lock instead.

nice gift for young girl writers . see my review on matching trinket box. the color in the picture is a bit deceiving-it has a sort of orange undertone to it.

Twister tube connector Info

Price : $2.75

Combine the Tornado Tube® with two 2 liter soda bottles and provide a hands-on demonstration of `VORTEX ACTION.'

This review is from : Twister tube connector
GREAT . We first tried LOTS and LOTS of duct tape and plastic and metal washers but after numerous attempts they just did not hold up well after many tries. The duct tape would not hold up well on the drive to school so we opted to buy this inexpensive yet amazingly working product. Just add 1 drop of blue food coloring as we tried reds, orange and others yet the blue worked best as we saw more of the vortex action with just 1 drop of blue, mix it and u will see its plently. My 4 yrd olf son asked in a few years of he could use this same device when its time for him to do the same in school.

Twister tube connector Reviews
The secret for stopping leaks: . I needed one of these couplers that absolutely would not leak, even under CO2 pressure. I read review after review on various brands that were generally positive but all generally leaked at least a little (duck tape does NOT hold up when the water source is under the adhesive). The was the only one that had no reviews that mentioned leaking, but only one review that had just made the step up from pure duck tape, so obviously, no contest there. Will this brand work with no leaks? Honestly I didn't even give it a chance by itself, but the inside thread is perfect for what I had in mind:While I was waiting for this to arrive in the mail, I went to a local hardware store and for about $1, I bought a small pack of flat, rubber, garden-hose washers and put one in each end of this coupler. Then, I removed the white plastic rings from the neck of both 2-litter bottles (the ring that's left over from the cap), I added the liquids, and screwed both bottles in.The result was perfect, even when the liquids were carbonated. The rim of each bottle screwed into the rubber washers, making a perfect seal, and the rim of the coupler lined up perfectly with the collar of each 2-litter bottle.

Mould & Paint Dinosaur

Mould & Paint Dinosaur - A fun and easy-to-do moulding plaster and painting kit. Make up your own glow in the dark dinosaur fridge magnet or badge. Each kit contains a mould with 6 dinosaur designs and includes all you need to make badges or fridge magnets, including plaster and paints.

This review is from : Mould & Paint Dinosaur
Lots of fun with a little adult supervision . The first part, mixing the clay and pouring it in the molds, requires a little adult supervision. Then there is the wait: Are they set yet, mom? Once they are ready, the kids can paint them all by themselves, and they have lots of fun doing it. It is a good thing that there is enough clay to make two rounds of dinosaurs, so that they can repeat the experience at a later date. There are also fish and fairies and other themes. I find this little toy affordable, creative and highly entertaining, even for moms and dads!

This review is from : Sign Language Pocket Flash Cards
Good for the Alphabet . I liked the colored manual alphabet cards. I was disappointed that there were not more signs, though. They will only be useful for one or two class periods.

Sign Language Pocket Flash Cards Reviews
Horrible . I was shocked when I received them in the mail, I thought they were ASL flash cards, but they are english signs not ASL. They shouldn't miss represent themselves that way.

Sign Language Pocket Flash Cards Opinions
great learning tool . my 4 year old is non-verbal and uses sign to communicate. we bought 2 sets of these; one for at home and one for my sons school. he is now learning the alphabet and starting to spell small words. love these...great learning tool.

Cards fun with my son . My son started to learn sign language at the babysitters before he was a year old. It was great to be able to communicate with him before he could talk. He just turned two and is learning more everyday and I have a hard time keeping up. I ordered the cards so we could be on the same page. Very helpful but are a bit hard to understand how to do some of the signs.

Can You Imagine Kaleidoscopic - Microkaleidoscopic Visions The Amazing KaleidoScopic updates an old optical toy with bright new visions! No more contortions to aim at a window or lamp! The KaleidoScopic has a built-in illuminator, oscillating red, blue and green LEDs, and (3) interchangeable liquid "color chambers" with sparkly bits suspended in glycerin. Measures 7-3/4" tall on its microscope-ish stand but can also be hand-held. Includes replaceable button-cell batteries.

This review is from : Can You Imagine Kaleidoscopic
Delightful for anyone! . This was sent as a gift to a friend. I liked it so much, I purchased one for myself. I put it on the livingroom coffee table and it interests all who see it, many friends have asked where they could get one for themselves. I have always loved kaleidoscopes and this one is the best I've seen. The colors and patterns are gorgeous. Care should be taken when placing it in the base, and it may be best suited for ages 6 and up. I remove it from the base when viewing it, as I find it a bit awkward viewing it while in the base.

Can You Imagine Kaleidoscopic Reviews
So cool ! . I got this for my eight year old but the whole family has played with it . It's just the coolest kaleidoscope. Really it's to neat to just call it a kaleidoscope at least my vision of ones I had as a kid.

Best PLASTIC TEST TUBES W/ CAPS 12/PK in USA

Price : $9.99

These durable test tubes are perfect for young chemists! 16 ml. Set of 12

This review is from : PLASTIC TEST TUBES W/ CAPS 12/PK
Love the screw caps . I bought these to hold candy for party favors at a "Mad Scientist" birthday party. They were perfect for what I bought them for. I loved the fact they had a screw on cap. It made it easy for the kids to open.

PLASTIC TEST TUBES W/ CAPS 12/PK Reviews
Smaller than advertised . I purchased these test tubes to hold rolled up invitations to a "science" themed birthday party. The description listed them as 1.5" in diameter, which should have been plenty big. However, the actual tubes are much smaller. The cap is about 0.75" in diameter, and the tube itself even smaller. Had to return them. They are, however, a "typical" test tube size that you might expect if you didn't read the description.

PLASTIC TEST TUBES W/ CAPS 12/PK Opinions
Volume . some people considering buying these might want to know that if you fill these to the brim they hold about 20ml. I got these for a costume but other people might want then for actual experiments and might need this information.

Tubes . Good and just what I needed. Theses are very small about a half in in diameter and 6 in long

Plastic Test Tube Review . The product was shipped in a timely manner and accurately matched the description presented. I bought this for my kids who just wanted to use them to collect little items on our hikes.

Ok but... . I used these to make lava tubes with the kids at Bring Your Child to Work Day. One was cracked out of the package. The kids loved them but when they went to screw the lid on to take them home we found that the threads weren't that tight and the liquid leaked out in the plastic bag.

Note that another reviewer is right... these are not as large as shown in the picture. They are the size of a 'normal' glass test tube.

So far so good . I homeschool my eldest son, so this equipment has become part of our "science lab". So far it has performed very well for us (though we don't consider it to be a "toy.").

This review is from : Roman Town: The Premiere Archaeology Computer Game
I can DIG-IT! . Just so you know: I am a classical archaeologist and a Latin teacher. These games are great: the graphics are engaging; the information about how archaeologists work is on point; and the historical setting is accurate. Students of all ages can learn about archaeology AND the ancient world. I teach 7th-12th graders and I would use this product with ALL of my classes -- anything that can supplement and enrich what we are doing in the classroom is worth trying. My students are eager to learn and these games make learning fun.

Roman Town: The Premiere Archaeology Computer Game Reviews
Fund and educational . I got a copy for my niece who is 10 she liked it and was able to incorporate it in her report on Rome and lets her classmates try it. I'm a hit with her and her parents!

Roman Town: The Premiere Archaeology Computer Game Opinions
Roman Town is Terrific! . Roman Town is a terrific tool for teaching kids about archeology -- and it's fun, too! The game is extremely interactive, and explains the relevance and structure of archeological tools, processes, and treasures.

I picked up a copy of Roman Town for my 7-year-old niece, and strongly recommend it.

Great For Playing and Learning! . I have this game for my 7-year old daughter and she loves it, but I must confess I have played the entire game myself! Typically I would recommend this for 8 and up due to the reading level required for the roman terminology. In addition, I have a 5-year boy, and the careful mouse control required for the reconstruction puzzles and reading make it too advanced for him, but he likes to set the diggers in the beginning of the game and play Calculi.

Both of my kids have learned so much about Roman life playing this game! A word of warning - the first time through my daughter tried to breeze through without reading the instructions set out clearly on the screen. This made playing some of the games more difficult. So reading directions became a lesson too!

I would recommend this for both parents who want a computer game that is actually fun and educational. I would definitely recommend it for teachers and home schoolers too. I've talked to several friends who teach latin and ancient history for 6th graders/middle school, and they have this game in the classroom and the students love it! I hope the program designers are working on a sequel - maybe Greek Town? Or Egypt Town?

Roman Town game . Imagine if Latin teachers in the past had had a copy of Roman Town! This is a fun, attractive, intuitive game that will entertain as well as teach archeology to most anyone from elementary school on through adulthood. In fact after a half hour or so I had to relinquish the computer to my grandchildren so that they could play. Who knew archeology could be so much fun!

Alan Melvin

#1 Archaeology Educational Game for all ages . Roman Town is a fabulous educational tool for all ages striving to learn more about Archeology. I have purchased 2 games already and are getting great feedback from all who play. The Game is an educational engaging experience and FUN! - Thanks. for more information go to [...]

Great game for kids. Lots of learning and fun. . I enjoyed playing the game (I'm an adult) but can see how children could learn a lot about archaeology.

Where To Buy Replogle Globes 12/1 Wonder Globe, Antique Ocean, 11cm Diameter

Price : $12.00

Replogle Globes 12/1 Wonder Globe, Antique Ocean, 11cm Diameter - This little -inch Wonder-inch offers an exceptionally smooth rotation on 2 different axes. The 11 cm diameter globe features a detailed easy-to-read map indicating political borders and capital cities.

This review is from : Replogle Globes 12/1 Wonder Globe, Antique Ocean, 11cm Diameter
Beautiful little globe. . This is a very well-made, sturdy, beautiful little globe. I really bought it just for decoration and reference, but it's actually really cool. My 5 year old nephew uses it every time he hears of a place he doesn't know. He looks for it and gets so excited when he finds it. It's really cool because it tilts in all directions. I really like the antique look of it too. This is a really great looking globe. And it just feels heavy and sturdy. You won't be disappointed.

Cute small globe. . Colors are great, looks really nice.
For reference, this is a VERY small globe. About the size of a large orange or small grapefruit.

Replogle Globes 12/1 Wonder Globe, Antique Ocean, 11cm Diameter Reviews
Just What I Wanted! . I wanted a globe because I am so clueless as to where things are around the world in relation to each other. This is just what I was looking for, its small and goes great on my desk for easy access.

Replogle Globes 12/1 Wonder Globe, Antique Ocean, 11cm Diameter Opinions
delivered broken . I bought this as a gift for my 9 year old. When she opened it on xmas day, the stand was broken. I will only get a partial refund because I bought it in October when I was doing early xmas shopping. I should have inspected it by taking it out of the box. It's small but ideal for a kids' desk. Parents will need their reading glasses. Hoping super glue will fix the stand.

Just what I was looking for . Was looking for something, that wouldn't take up to much space. The writing could be a little larger. It serves the purpose I wanted.

Southern Hemisphere x 2 . I gave this as a gift for Christmas. Found out after the person took it home and opened it that both the bottom and the top of the globe was the Southern Hemisphere. So if you are wondering why our children do not know their geography, you have to look no farther than the globes being created. I have to say it does live up to it's name: "Wonder Globe" since I wonder what planet these folks live on since it is not earth.

not for kids . I got this for my kids so they could see how far away I was in afghanistan. It broke the first day.

Cons Review

It's Nice! . I bought this for a gift, they absolutely loved it! Seems to be well made, I would recommend buying this!

Retired . This is a nice, little globe, which features good color and art work. It is OK for locating countries, seas, and oceans, but remember it is small (only about 4" in diameter)so that detail beyond that is out of the question. It fits nicely on a table top as a quick reference tool.
The way it is mounted takes some getting used to, and I wish that it had a nicer base, but for the money, it is a good buy.

This review is from : Microscope Set 23-pc
Good for the price! . We bought this for our niece for Christmas. Her grandfather bought her a more expensive set as well. To no avail, she and her grandfather (who is a science teacher) sat up till 2am trying to figure how to use the expensive set while she was able to start viewing slides and bugs within 15 minutes of opening this one. Nothing extravagant but a good buy for the price!

Cheap microscope . When I ordered this I didn't realize it was plastic. It also does not have a light built in so you have to use the mirror under the slide to reflect the light to see the slide. If I had known this I would not have ordered this one.

Microscope Set 23-pc Opinions
Great Beginner Set . This kit is perfect for kids, everything the little scientist needs to get started on their own experiments. This microscope is for beginners, but a great deal for the price.

GREAT starter microscope! . My daughter just received this microscope as a 5th birthday present. She's an inquisitive learner, and with a little bit of help (and an external light source) she quickly dove into exploration of the Starter Slides (available separately) that she also received. As mentioned, this microscope needs an external light source; however, I love the fact that it doesn't need batteries. It should last us for a while, or at least until she decides she'd like something larger.

another Jr. Science success . Back again for another Jr. Science Explorer kit. Not to be disappointed. The "identifying fibers" experiment was really cool. We found every kind of fiber to compare and even downloaded an extra Observation Worksheet to chart all of our findings. Great idea! Easy to use and very educational. Great value!

very flimsy . I bought this for my 8 yrs old son for Christmas as it was the best price I found, but you get what you pay for. It does not come with a light or anything so you have to sit next to a window to use it. I wish I had paid the extra 20 dollars and got him a sturdy one that would not have been so flimsy and not worked great. They say this product is for children over eight because if you have anyone with little hands it falls apart immediatly.

small microscope . I guess I missed the description on this- it is quite small. There is no light source. Your child needs to be able to manipulate a refractory glass just right to put the specimen in view. My son is happy with it, but I was a little disappointed. He is 7 and quite capable, but he struggles to line it all up and has to move all over the house to find the right sunlight. Also, if he just nudges it while trying to look, he has to re-adjust. I would have returned it, but he did not want to wait for another.

Cons Review

Cheap price but cheaply made . Cheap price for this microscope, but it is very cheaply made. An OK starter microscope, but if the person you are getting it for would like a good microscope, look for something more durable, and with a built in light.

Cheap toy microscope . This little microscope is so cheaply made I'm surprised it arrived intact. The focus adjustment is weak, lenses are clouded and the light source mirror won't stay where you put it. The only redeeming quality it has is the slides that come with it are ok but there weren't very many. Do not waste your money on this, it just may break by looking at it.

Cheap materials . The product fell apart right out of the box. The plastic is very cheap and not durable. Plus you could not see anything without pointing it directly into the light at a certain angle. Lose the exact spot and it didn't work at all. I bought this for my 9 yr. old based on another review. He was VERY disappointed and tossed it aside immediately. Next time I would spend more for something more durable.
