GREAT . We first tried LOTS and LOTS of duct tape and plastic and metal washers but after numerous attempts they just did not hold up well after many tries. The duct tape would not hold up well on the drive to school so we opted to buy this inexpensive yet amazingly working product. Just add 1 drop of blue food coloring as we tried reds, orange and others yet the blue worked best as we saw more of the vortex action with just 1 drop of blue, mix it and u will see its plently. My 4 yrd olf son asked in a few years of he could use this same device when its time for him to do the same in school.

The secret for stopping leaks: . I needed one of these couplers that absolutely would not leak, even under CO2 pressure. I read review after review on various brands that were generally positive but all generally leaked at least a little (duck tape does NOT hold up when the water source is under the adhesive). The was the only one that had no reviews that mentioned leaking, but only one review that had just made the step up from pure duck tape, so obviously, no contest there.Will this brand work with no leaks? Honestly I didn't even give it a chance by itself, but the inside thread is perfect for what I had in mind:While I was waiting for this to arrive in the mail, I went to a local hardware store and for about $1, I bought a small pack of flat, rubber, garden-hose washers and put one in each end of this coupler. Then, I removed the white plastic rings from the neck of both 2-litter bottles (the ring that's left over from the cap), I added the liquids, and screwed both bottles in.The result was perfect, even when the liquids were carbonated. The rim of each bottle screwed into the rubber washers, making a perfect seal, and the rim of the coupler lined up perfectly with the collar of each 2-litter bottle.

Great bargain . I bought these for my 3-1/2 year old granddaughter so she can start learning more words. We put them on the refrigerator and she uses them all the time. Great product.

Cons Review

Wish I'd Read The Reviews . I bought these for my 2 year old. As soon as I opened the package I realized they were a choking hazard. They're way to small for a toddler. I wouldn't even feel comfortable giving them to my 5 year old. I wish the dimensions had been included in the advertisement.

Letters don't stick on straight . I have this alphabet set. My 3-year old likes it fine. Some of the letters don't hang straight, though. This is due to the position of the magnets on a few of them. Particularly the letter B and O that I've noticed. The magnet is on the side of the letter instead of the top, so it tends to fall over and hang from the side.

Also, since there are 36 letters included, there is an odd amount of some letters, obviously. It doesn't seem to be very logical, though. I was a bit disappointed to find my package contained four A's, but only one of each other vowel, an extra G and some other odd letters.

Otherwise it is an okay set for the price.

Colorful Durable Magnets . Very happy with these magnets. However I was shipped a lower case p in my set of uppercase letters.

Endless Fun . This was an awesome present for my son! He loves reading and spelling words and we've had endless amounts of entertainment spelling lots of words on the refrigerator door!

Missing Letter . I agree with the other reviews...letters are way too small. My 4 year old immediately started to pick at the magnets on the back and a few did become loose. Plus, a letter "P" was missing, and had extra random letters to round out the 36. Very sloppy.

Cheap . Letters are too small for my little one to play with while she is still very young. But the letters dont have very strong magnets so they dont stay straight on the frig. Worth the price, but probably wouldn't buy them again!

Small letters not for young children . I ordered these for my almost 1 year old because he likes to play with magnets on the fridge. Upon opening the package I realized they are way too small for a little boy. They would be fine for a school-aged child, but I'm disappointed I didn't realize this before ordering. Now I'm searching for "jumbo" magnetic letters!

Great Learning Tool . After reading all the negative reviews about this product, I was a little hesitant to purchase them. My 2 and a half year old son is really interested in learning and identifying letters, and we're really trying to encourage him. I remember having magnetic letters as a kid, and wanted to find some for him. The price on these were great, but I was worried about quality. The jumbo sized letters were over twice the price, and since some of the reviews said they took up a lot of space, I decided to try out the small letters.

We just put them on the refrigerator and I was pleasantly surprised. All the letters stuck to the fridge just fine, none fell off or slid down or anything like that. While the magnets are small and may wear out over time, they seem fine for now, and for the price it doesn't really matter. The magnets are on the small side, so if you have a child who likes to put things in his/her mouth, I would NOT recommend these. However, if you have a older child and are just looking for a cheap set of magnetic letters, these are the best.

I also got my son the Leapfrog Fridge Phonics Magnets, and he LOOOVVEEESSSS them. Since that set only comes with one of each letter, these ones are a nice addition so he can have extra letters to spell out words.

Magnetic Junk . Don't waste your $3. These magnets don't stick to anything. We have a galvanized steel magnetic board and they slide right off. Fun colors but they're tiny.

VERY SMALL! . I ordered these to stick on my fridge for my one year old. They are soooo tiny, complete choking hazard. I need to find the large model.

best price for lower case and give extra vowels . my sons kindergarten teacher had suggested we get these for our sons learning at home and how to spell and sound out words. This was the best price for a set of lowercase ones ( found upper case for a dollar at walmart) and I am very happy with them. we spell out words on a cookie sheet and I keep the sheet lying down they stay in place but I am not holding it upright to slide as mine didnt really slide anyway. They are small but in proprtion to the uppercase ones you see,but fine for their purpose. great price and give some extra vowels and I am happy we found them for so cheap. he loves them . there is a small peice of magnet on the other side ( not throughout the letter ) so that may be why some dont think they stick so well. recommend for school aged children and not little ones that put everything in mouth. letters about an inch in size. a little bigger than my thumprint.

Magnet letters . They are OK. I bought a magnet board from WalMart and they worked fine with it. However I need to buy too much of these stuff to really suit my purpose and it is getting too expensive. They need to make then with more vowels to the package. The full Alphabet is not helping because I may never use some of those letters for a preschool word lists, while I need multiple of others so I don't really know how this could be done unless he actually choose the letters we need.

learning distraction . I bought these letters for my 2 year old to play with in the kitchen while I was making food. He loves them! And he sings the a-b-c song while he plays!

Letters . Got this for my 4 year old for preschool. Today was her first day, so we'll see about how durable they will be, but I've used some before and they were fine.

Great gift! . We got this as a gift for our friend's 4 year old. He played with it consistently for the 3 days they were at our house, and he continues to play with it at home. It's great because it has wheels on the bottom so he can play with on the floor, but it also floats so he can use it as a bath toy. (his parents were pleased that water can't really get inside the toy, apparently bath toys get moldy/grody pretty quickly) The package tells you how to combine the pieces to make different kinds of boats but he was more interested in coming up with his own designs - he didn't care if it was an oil tanker or a tug boat.

Fantastic Toy for the tub! . This is the best tub toy we have found. My 4 year old son and 2 year old daughter love to create new boats every night. We have an old cast iron tub and the pieces stick to the side, which makes is great to store the pieces not in use.

Excellent Toy!! It's a winner! . My son is two and half and absolutely adores Blues Clues. Imagine his delight when we gave him "the notebook". I think he thinks we skidooed into the land of Blue to get it. It does wipe off very easy to use the pages again and again. The paw print stickers are a one shot deal but he doesn't need them in order to enjoy this toy. If your kid loves the show, I say it's a hit!

Joe's Handy Dandy Notebook Reviews
The Best Notebook Option Out There . I own this notebook, as well as Steve's Notebook and the Golden Notebook. While all three look good, I would only recommend Joe's and Steve's, with a couple of qualifications.

First, I would not recommend that Golden Notebook primarily because the front and back are made of cardboard instead of plastic, as the other two are.

Regarding Joe's Notebook and Steve's Notebook, here are the qualifications:

1) The pages can soak up water when you clean them. That said, I have never put that much water on them. Usually a little dab on a paper towel will do the trick.

2) While a little dab of water can do the trick, it is not an easy chore and not something all little kids will be able to do. Depending on how hard your child writes, this could be more or less of a problem.

3) This is probably the worst issue for me. The crayon simply does not draw very well on the pages. You generally have to press down pretty hard, and this is not always easy for little ones. My little girl often shows me her drawing and tells me what it is, which is good seeing as how I can barely see a faded dark line here and there. It is nothing like simply drawing with a crayon or marker on paper. Of course, this is to be expected I suppose, considering the washable nature of the product, but still.

4) You will likely need to get creative and find a way to attach the crayon to the notebook otherwise it may get lost on day one. Some string and a rubberband will do the trick. I am sure you can come up with something.

Now, even with all those concerns, I still say this is the best notebook out there and here's why. This one and Steve's are the only ones I know of that have plastic fronts and backs. Anyone who is looking for Blue's Clues stuff knows how hard it is to come by and how expensive it can be. These are notebooks that will last a good long time. Not only that, I have found that it is very easy to get some colored construction paper, a hole punch and a better pen on a leash and "reload" these notebooks til your kids are out of college. That right there is the true value of these particular notebooks and the reason that, despite all my problems with them, they still get 5 stars.

So, out of the box, they're not bad and worth the retail price, but what makes these things really shine and makes them worth the "collectible" price is the fact that they will last you a good long time and can be modified and "reloaded" time and time again with a little work. The Golden Notebook, on the other hand, while a good think cardboard and perhaps worth the retail price, still wears down quickly, as one would expect even think cardboard to do.

Other notebooks I have seen have been much, much worse. Be careful what you get.

Joe's Handy Dandy Notebook Opinions
Joe's notebook . My 3 year old was desperate for a 'handy dandy notebook', and nothing from a stationery store would do: it HAD to look like the thinking chair. Now, with each Blue's Clues episode, he can draw the clues along with Joe (or Steve), and he's delighted! However, for all the joy that it brings, I am conscious that the laminated pages absorb water and warp VERY quickly, and that it would just take one, unnoticed spill to ruin what has turned out to be a very expensive toy: with almost [$...] to ship to NZ, the total cost of this toy doubled to [$...] - way more than I think necessary!!

Joe's Handy Dandy Notebook . This notebook was purchased as a birthday gift to replace a Blue's Clues notebook lost by our 2-year old grandson. He had resorted to grabbing everyone's spiral notebook and available pen or pencil he could lay his hands on. This caused considerable friction with parents and older siblings. Upon seeing the newly purchased Joe's Handy Dandy Notebook, all interest in the other toys immediately ceased and this notebook became the only toy played with, for several weeks. The notebook itself is durable enough, but keeping track of the wax writing instrument is a major problem. While the notebook is a bit pricey, the utility-cost value is thought to be worth it. There is only one issue with this item, and that is the writing instrument. 1. Only one comes with the notebook. and 2. One cannot buy only the writing instrument, without buying another notebook. Twenty five dollars+ is a bit much when an easily lost component is the only thing needing replacement. The ability to separately purchase a replacement writing tool - at a reasonable price - or supplying an additional tool, would be beneficial from the purchaser's perspective. While understanding this is a for-profit venture, a reasonable profit can still be maintained by making additional writing tools available. And yes, it is understood that buying another entire notebook-writing tool combination increases the profit, it may also deter repeat sales, such as the one I made. Although I'm well satisfied with the purchase and results, it is unlikely there would be a repeat purchase from me. This single issue prevented the notebook from getting a 5-star rating from me.

A real dandy . I purchased this notebook for my 6 yr old grandson Eli for Christmas. He has carried it around nonstop ever since. The toy is well made and he has drawn on it and cleaned it countless times with little sign of wear. Not only was this toy his absolute favorite gift this year but we are already planning to purchase another one for his little girlfriend for Valentines day. We are both very pleased with the purchase and would recommend it to any Blue's Clues fan.

hefty pricetag for a notebook . When my first child was into Blues Clues I was able to buy this off the rack - 9 years ago. Now my third daughter discovered some old DVD's and just has to have a notebook but I remember that it wasn't that durable and almost choked when I saw that it was going for $15 or more. Are they collector's items? Like others I remember that the crayon doesn't work really well on the laminated pages and that they do easily damage from water and tear from the binder. It would be worth the price if it was refillable paper

Put a huge smile on my child's face . My 5 year old loves Blues Clues and this was about the best present he ever received if you saw his face. Kept him busy for hours.

Handy Dandy for Your little Clue Finder . This is absolutely adorable. I just found this. My son is 5 but absolutely loves this. He could sing all the songs to the show and loves his new notebook. Just wipe clean with dry cloth and find more clues.

A Winner! . My 2 year old absolutely lit up when he saw this. I was lucky and didn't pay nearly the "collectible" price. He's gone through so many writing pads I can't even count. The plastic front a back cover make a nice sturdy notebook for the punishment a 2 year old can dish out. How ever long it lasts, it was worth the look on his face when I gave to him!

Handy Dandy indeed! . Our son is obsessed with Blue's Clues and has been pretending to have a "notebook" for a while. He was ecstatic about receiving this from Santa this year. He uses it all the time and the pages are easy to keep clean. I may need to fasten the crayon to the notebook somehow because I'm sure there will be tears if the crayon gets lost! Great product...just wish it wasn't so expensive!

One of the Best Handy Dandy Notebooks available . I understand the negative review. The erasable crayon leaves something to be desired. You will likely see shreds of it somewhere, though it is not hard to clean up really. My number one complaint about the crayon and product in general is how hard it is to write with it. You have to press down very hard to see any sort of satisfying line, and even then it is not a clean line. For a two year old girl, this is particularly hard.

As a side note, there is no reason to clean these with a sponge or anything wet. A dry paper towel did the trick for me, generally without any hassles.

Yet, I give it 5 stars. Why? Because it is still the best BC notebook out there (except for the other two or three that are the same only in different styles). What I really like about this notebook is how durable it is (don't use water to wash it). The front and back are extra sturdy plastic and the spiral ring is big enough to fit a variety of crayons and dry erase markers.

That durability means I can do something else cool with this notebook. Without too much trouble, I cam make my own pages, punch them and thread them through the spirals. This possibility opens up all kinds of options and is why I really love this thing. That, and my daughters eyes lit up when she saw it.

Great for little ones who love Blues Clues . My toddler loves Blues Clues, so I knew she had to have a handy dandy notebook of her own. I was a little surprised at how much it was - was quite a bit more than I wanted to spend. But I bought it anyway and she absolutely loves it. Whenever it's on TV, she runs and gets her notebook and feels like she's part of the show. I also like how the pages just wipe off so we can use them over and over again. Is a cute toy & my daughter loves it, however, it is rather expensive which is a bummer.

Great Surprise for my little one. . When my son was into Blues' Clues this was the best thing he could have received. Would not put down for a minute. Downside of the toy is that the spirals come out
easily, the crayon gets lost, and the pages can be hard to clean (they do not wipe down easily). I paid much less than it's being advertised for. Would pay the 49.99
to see his face but not for the value. Not worth 49.99 but if you have a big time Blue's Clues fan he would love it. Shipped pretty quickly, felt a little slighted over the price but I understood I paid for a toy that was not going to last long.

Handy Dandy Notebook . I got this notebook for my daughter for her 2nd birthday. She loved it!!! Even though the spiral at the top does unwind a bit, it is very easy to put back together. She is able to write the clues on it, and when she is done we just wipe them off. In regards to the crayon, you can buy dry erase crayons at local stores.

Must have for the Blues Clues Lovers . My Grandson learns a lot from the Blues Clues shows - this is one of his favorite toys - the handy dandy notebook - he pretends for hours to be Joe or Steve. My Grandson started watching when he turned 2 and still watching after turning 3 in February 2010

Just like Steve's! . My 2yr old just got into Blue's Clues and was already starting to pretend she had a Handy Dandy Notebook. When I saw this one and compared it made sense to get one which could be used over and over (hence the higher price). I balked a the price too but it does stand up to wear and tear for a small toy and it really resembles Steve's. The crayon broke the 2nd day but again so are all the crayons we have; it is a 2yr old handling it afterall. The spiral part comes undone so it just needs to be respun into the grooves. Overall its a good product your child can enjoy over and over. Only difficult part is actually drawing the clues like Steve!

Hindi Learning Magnetic Varnamala Set Opinions
Nothing like it in the market . Coming from India and living in the US, I have found it difficult to find very many useful toys which would help my children learn Hindi. I am glad to have found this and have recommended it to many of my friends and they have many good things to say abt it. Now, we can finally have the Hindi Alphabet next to the American Alphabet on our refrigerator. The quality of this product was very nice colorful, and fun, which was very appealing for my 4 and 6 year old. I was very pleased with the product and would recommend this to the hindi speaking community.

Effective but it is basically foam letters with magnets pasted on . These are effective for the "consonant" learning, but the vowel makings are not included fully to allow full "word" writing. It is a great way to introduce the various letters of the 'alphabet' to your preschooler and above (even adults). We use this with our 3 year old and she has caught on to some of the sounds. Just wish they were slightly larger and a bit more solid. Wood would be better.

Good set of alphabets . The only thing lacking is the 'matras' - which could have been useful in teaching spelling.
The set is otherwise of good quality and colorful.

High quality and very beneficial - . This item is great. Not only has it helped my child learn, it has peaked his interest in learning more. I would certainly recommend this item to anyone (including adults) who wish to learn the alphabet basics.

Very invaluable hindi learning tool for small kids . This product is a great idea. I was looking for something like this for a while. My 4 year old picked up interest in Hindi due to this. It is worth every penny. My only suggestion for improvement is if matra blocks are also included it will enable kids to form simple hindi words which helps a great deal in overall hindi learning.
