Preschoolers learn to write! . I love these tablets. The key is that the kids can hold the magnetic styles like a real pencil. I am a preschool teacher and the kids love these. Our rule is that the kids must hold the stylus like a pencil. This helps reinforce correct pencil grip. Since the kids love them, there is a lot of free practice going on. They feel nice in your hand and have decent weight, without being too heavy. The magnets are real strong as well. The kids not only use the stylus like a pencil, but then have the added sensory benefit of pushing each magnetic ball back down. I have them trace the letters again with their finger. The only problem that I have found is that some of the magnetic balls do not return even after the kids push them back down. This started after the little ones stepped on one. I was able to loosen the screws on the back and the balls returned. I also purchased a number tablet that is smaller, as well as two red tablets that are a large square for free expression. The kids make their own letters and then the other student can guess what letter, shape or number they made. These are by the same company. I have recommended these to many other people who also love them. Our site is evaluated by the ELLKO and ECERS-R scale by the state. The state representative loved them an actually wrote down the information to recommend to other schools.
