Great Product . This is a great educational toy. We enjoyed teach mu toddler, so decided to get this toy since he turned three years old, and mastered the old product. You will spend so much money trying to get educational items to equal up to this product, when this product comes with it all in one package. There is no need to drive store to store and spend lots of money on seperate products.

Teach My Preschooler Reviews
My daughter loves this . My daughter got this for her 2nd birthday and she most especially loves using the writing board to trace the letters and numbers. Admittedly, yes, the board is flimsy and our daughter stepped on hers and the frame broke, but we're still able to use it. She enjoys it so much we'll probably replace it with the Fisher Price magnetic writing board for Christmas, but she'll still be able to use the letter and number transparencies from this set for that replacement board. She also enjoys the counting set - especially playing with the foam numbers and placing them on the 1-100 counting board. I am sure as she gets a little older she will enjoy the reading primers and math materials also, but we're not there yet.

Teach My Preschooler Opinions
The magnetic writing pad was very flimsy and breaks easily . I bought the aforementioned product for my nephew who is over 2 years old. Although the content is quite educational, the material of most of the subobjects within is quite flimsy and not worth 50$. The magnetic board broke quite soon.

Perfect Flash Cards! . These are cute and very durable. The ring has come apart but I am going to replace it with a cheap metal one, not a big deal. Perfect for our 2 year old!

Flash Cards . We really like the flash cards. The ring that holds them together comes unclasped easily but we're just going to get a metal ring as a replacement. The cards are sturdy and the pictures, etc. are great!

Educational . My daughter is not very interested in flash cards. Puzzles are her favorite activity. However, I bought this set for the car ride and she seems to like it. The cards are colorful and made very well. The ring works perfectly fine. not to tight not too loose. If your child likes flash cards this is a great set. You can also teach colors, foods, and animals using the set.

Simple and well-designed . The cards are sturdy and plastic so they stay clean, and the ring clasps securely so that the cards stay on it (almost too securely - I have arthritis and sometimes have difficulty opening it). We used these on a road trip, and my daughter used them for storytelling and colors so they have more potential than just numbers.

Good Sturdy Flashcards . I found these to be a great way to sit with my grandchildren and play learning games. These are durable, easily wiped off, thick and colorful. The only thing that could be improved is the plastic ring that holds these cards together. It is not very sturdy and does not click securely and can cause all the cards to fall off of the ring. I fixed that with a simple piece of tape to hold both sides of the snap lock ring together. Overall, these have been a fun way to learn with my grandchildren and I would recommend them.

Wonderful first science kit on "Outer Space" . My 4yr old son recently received this kit as a fun rainy day present and he loved it. He especially enjoyed the little planetarium he could build and interchange the planet and star views. The map and stickers to create their own solar system was fun and nice and big. The only thing I would list as a negative is that Pluto is still shown as a planet, but that in itself was not a bad thing as it provided a nice side conversation on what constitutes a dwarf planet. Nice gravity information too that is appropriate for a 4-6yr old. I highly recommend this kit as a fun way to for your little one to learn about our solar system.

Sturdy but Weak and Heavy . I bought these to use with kids 2, 4, and 5 years old. They only focus right in the very middle of the magnifying glass (the field of focus is small) and they are quite heavy for being plastic. They have a flip up ring that seems very fragile - the kids haven't broken them yet, but I generally just didn't let them flip the rings when they first got them and I think they forgot about them.

Good things - you get quite a few in the set and the kids liked the different colors.

I think money would be better spent on a better quality magnifier. These have such a small field of focus and are so cumbersome that the kids don't use them that much. They do like to pretend to use them, but don't really look at the stuff through them (because it is blurry, I think).

Be careful of the stand . These are GREAT! My soon has had one for ages, the kindy uses them too. They are great presents for kids from 2-6yrs and bright colours too. The only issue I have had is the stand that folds out can be a bit too flimsy and likely to bend to far and break with out enough care.Another point is the shipping weight for the Amazon purchase is incorrect, it most certainly doesn't weigh 9lb. I contacted amazon and they refunded the additional shipping fee. The box itself weighs more like 2lb. So if you are paying the shipping (I am in Australia so have to pay by weight) then I suggest checking 1st with Amazon.

Great Size . My little girl is only 16 months but I wanted to expose her to letters and numbers and wanted magnets for her to play with on the refrigerator. They are nice and large so she won't choke on them. My dog also tends to pick them up and they are large enough she can't swallow them either. The magnet works just fine. They are a little pricey but still a good value.

Great . I love these. My daughter loves to pull them off the fridge and play with them all over the kitchen, but because you get 3 sets of numbers, we only put one up, then if she loses a number we have a backup. I also brought a set to grandmas, so she can continue to learn there. The size is perfect, and the colors are nice and bright. If there weren't so may letters in the alphabet, I would have gotten a set of them too, but that's too many peices to be picking up.

Larger..easier to see and use..wonderful! . These are called "Jumbo" for a reason. They are! Not your tiny letters and numbers you see for your home fridgie. They are so much better for a classroom setting. Everyone can see them much easier. Not as easy to fit into kids pockets when teacher is not looking (sad that it happens, but it does). Easier for little hands to manipulate, and not as easy to fit into small mouths. Get rid of those little hard-to-see, easy-to-lose, refridgerator magnets and put these in your classroom.

Way better than those cheapie dollar store ones . My kids wanted letter and number magnets for the fridge. We got some from the dollar store for cheap but they were so flimsy and the magnets were so weak that we only had sixes and no nines because they wouldn't stay upright. They were strong enough that they don't fall off with every close of th fridge door.

Good price. Magnets could be stronger. . Not bad for the price. The kid likes them but the magnets are on the weaker side. When he wants to just slid them on the fridge, they will fall off. I would rather him have to pull them off with his fingers. When he tries to put them back on they tend to fall if he doesn't precisely place them flat. Only gave the item 2 starts due to this.

Does the job . I was looking for something for my son to play with while I was in the kitchen. These letters are sturdy, colorful, and will do what I was looking to do. He's pretty young, so he isn't interested in making words yet. At this point, they are just fun to take on and off the fridge door. Because my son is still VERY much a chewer, I took away the long, skinny letters/numbers (I, L, etc) until I can be sure he won't stick them down his throat.

Awesome Flashcards . I absolutely love the fact that these cards are on a ring because our number one problem with flashcards is that my toddler loses them- however, not so with this product. The ring keeps them together and in order. Also, they are covered in a pretty thick laminate which protects them from the typical toddler wear and tear. The illustrations are very cool and colorful. I highly recommend this product.

Fun Sturdy Alphabet Flashcards . I LOVE the illustrations on these flashcards. That is what prompted me to buy them for my daughter's second birthday. The cards are very sturdy and have a nice weight and finish to them. My one issue is trying to keep them together. The ring that holds the card together is kind of flimsy. There is value in having the cards be detachable but I almost wish the ring was more permanent. It can be frustrating when you are missing cards. Overall, these are the most attractive, charming ABC flashcards I have ever found. I think I may have been a little too eager though because my daughter is only 2 and she doesn't seem that interested yet. But if you want some nice sturdy flashcards with charming, frameworthy illustrations I would buy these.

Adorable and educational! . I bought these cards for a plane trip with my then 1 year old daughter. She loved them! They were great for her to look through and kept her busy. At 2.5 she still loves them and asks to go through the letter sounds all of the time! They are adorably illustrated cards, too...I enjoy looking at them as well. My one and only complaint is that the ring that the cards goes on is a little flimsy...the plastic could be stronger.

Great toy for the car . My 16 month old son loves this set of flash cards. Because they are on the ring, I can hand them to him in the car and he flips through them looking at the pictures and telling us what he thinks each animal is. Some of the pictures are a little folk arty for easy identification but my son loves them!

Very good flash cards! . I'm very pleased with these cards. Very cute and colorful. The plastic ring does stink though. My 20 month old proceeded to take it apart almost immediately. I simply got one of those metal book binder clips (2" diameter) and it works perfectly!

My only complaint is that a few of the animals are a bit obscure...xoona moth, umbrella bird, jackal, yak.

the ring breaks almost immediately . These cards are pointless as the plastic ring holding them together falls apart almost immediately. My daughter is a pretty gentle girl, simply using the cards caused the ring which is only held together like a plastic snap button to come apart. Also I don't love a lot of the pictorials of the letters because it can be hard to recognize. But the ring issues is the real problem.

Questionable Description & Things to Consider . Features/Description states 30 activities (compared to 35 elsewhere), and the dimensions seem ... wrong (23.2 x 10.8 x 14.1 inches)-- rather large. Since I can't enlarge the image to read the shortcut category buttons, I don't know if this is "Bilingual"; which IS available. Available elsewhere (e.g. Walmart, JCPenney, & Target) for $20.00 as a BILINGUAL Learning Pad with 35 activities (including math, language, sequence, music, games, logic, translation and my tools); Size 10x7x1"H.Needless to say, I purchased this item elsewhere. BILINGUAL is a major plus!
I think children will really enjoy it once they learn how to use it. Some activities require considerable patience --especially for children, e.g., after seeing a word, waiting for the correct picture to appear, and scroll back around if not answered immediately or correctly. Younger children might not initially understand some directives e.g. insert and arrange, but will probably learn quickly especially with the screen animation. After all, this is intended for ages up to 7 years. Volume adjustment still seems rather loud. Batteries included are for demonstration purposes only, so have extras handy.

Awful . I wouldn't waste your money. I purchased this as a gift for my daughter and with the price of it should have known not to expect much. I opened it up and it is not "touch screen" The screen itself is so tiny its impossible to see what the different categories are and the toy itself seems to be poorly crafted. It's a black and "white" screen and it isn't anything what they describe it to be. If your child wants something that looks like your ipad, but does nothing even remotely close and isn't touch screen then this would be fine. I know my daughter would have been upset if I would have handed her this. (Not because she is spoiled, but she knows the difference.)

not impressed . When we opened the box and saw this toy we boxed it back up and returned it. It looks like it's from the 70's.

Winfun Kids . The toy arrived in time for Christmas. It is what I expected it to be. I did not experience very much. It was for my grandson.

Cons Review

Not for preschool . First, my child just turned 4 and is in preschool.I purchased this learning pad because it looks like the Ipad. There are several reasons I wouldn't recommend this for kids under 1st/2nd grade and even then it's questionable. 1. In order for the learning pad to do anything you must enter a code that is only listed on the owner's manual so once you lose the owners manual you have no idea which code takes you to which game. 2. The explanation of the different games isn't vocal, it's also on the manual so the kid can't grab the toy and try to learn on their own. 3. It looks attractive, but in actuality the only part of the screen that moves is about a 2" by 2" box, and the graphics are almost painfully slow and dated.I was looking for help with letters, and sounds of letters, and missing letters of simple words, and maybe a few games with this learning pad. What I got was an attractive pad that really isn't good for anything but the first code (01) , which is random typing of letters where the child can press letters and hear them repeated back to them. And whatever you do DON'T lost your manual!---you won't know what to do with the toy.

Winfun Kids Learning Pad . I bought this for my 3 year old daughter for her birthday. She is very pleased with the learning pad. I think this pad is comparable to the little computers you buy to teach children different educational things. It is pretty compact and she calls it her iPad. :)

$15 at KMART . THIS TOY'S REGULAR PRICE IS $15 AT KMART. You can even purchase it also for that price at KMART.COM. I dont shop at Kmart often, but if you are going to buy this product, you might as well get it at a great price. It is the same exact product...$45 is a HUGE rip-off!!!

Mixed reviews . My review of this item is mixed. On the plus side, my kids were very excited to try this quick sand experiment. It comes with a pretty nifty explanation of how this mixture is neither solid nor liquid, and so that's a worthwhile lesson to teach. And it does feel weird. It feels wet but it's not. It becomes powdery and dry but it's a liquid. BUT it turns out it's nothing more than a bag of cornstarch which you mix with water. And for which you've paid close to $8. The kids were a bit disappointed because it didn't feel or look like what they expected it to....actual quicksand. And it's really, really messy.I would recommend you do this OUTSIDE as you can't pour it down the sink or even really wash your hands in the sink. We used wet paper towels and then kept rubbing our hands until it basically disappeared. So you can do the same thing at home with cornstarch and water but you won't have the nifty box and explanation of solids and liquids.The two plastic animals were fine but we used lots of our own figures to play with.

assembling obvious ingredients and ideas better than I would . As a scientist mom you'd think I could easily get baking soda and vinegar from the kitchen and do these experiments without a stupid kit.

However I found that having specific "equipment" (test tubes) and "materials" engaged the interest of my kids. And most importantly, step by step suggestions for what experiments to do and what to say about them, helped me make this both interesting and educational for my kids.

My kids (3 and 4) went wild testing everything in the fridge to see if it contains acid (and thus if it would make baking soda fizz); they liked that they could guess from sourness and then test their predictions.

Ever since then my kids keep pestering me to do more chemistry. That's pretty significant. They make up (often quite wrong) theories about why different liquids fizz or mix the way they do. They got thinking about the fact that this is a question that can be asked, or that demands an explanation. To me that is a huge educational value.

Overall you could easily do the same things with kitchen materials and a well designed plan, but the kit makes it easy.

Science kit . I was a little disapointed with this kit. We have seen better. I have to say that it does have educational notes in with each experiment to help teach what is going on. I was expecting a wider variety of experiments and more props. Kids love most of all to mix things and there were no droppers or little scoops to allow them to do that. The "chemicals" were all in opaque silver lined bags so they were hard to pour and impossible to get a hand in to dig contents out meaning that mom had to pour it all into the one measuring spoon taking some of the fun out of it all. A different kit we had purchased came with test tubes, droppers, measuring cups, little scoops etc. and they had more fun when they were able to do more things themselves! It's not a bad product just looks more involved from the box than it really is.

Perfect kit for easy educational hands-on science that is truly open-and-go. . After attempting hands-on science by using a curriculum manual with my homeschooled children, I finally realized that I needed a "kit" that was open-and-go. And this kit was my answer!

Yes, there are items in the box that one would find in one's own pantry or cupboard, but I appreciate that everything is already there.

I used to use a curriculum, which claimed that all hands-on science experiments would require things found around the house. For some reason, however, those items were rarely in my home.

We have a large family, a child with special needs, are frequently running around taking a child to therapy, helping with our family's new business, etc. and I felt I was letting my children down by not following through with the experiments they so wanted to do.

I bought a few more "easy" science books and tried to implement those, but for one reason or another, things didn't work out.

A friend of mine suggested I look for some "science in a box" kits and I was nervous about what I would find. She recommended this company and I selected a couple of items, hoping it would work.

I was ecstatic when I opened the instructions to the first experiment to discover that the only items I had to fetch from my kitchen were a dish and a cup of water!

And as for future experiments, I have a very short list right up front of things I will plan to have on hand for when the time comes.

Clearly this kit is not for everyone, but for someone who is short on time and needs the simplicty of open-and-go, I recommend it.

Unique and Interactive . An awesome interactive toy for boys and girls aged 7-10 years old. I haven't come across anything like this in Australia and I believe it will be endless amount of fun!!

Lots of bubbles little else. . I bought this with the Mind Blowing Science Kit. Skip the fizzy foamy stuff and just go straight to the mind blowing stuff! It'll save you $20.

Cons Review

waste of money . I did this with my 8 and 5 year olds. They were very excited about it- the box is very appealing. Sadly, there is more packaging than content. Kids lose interest after one "experiment." The "safe chemicals" are really just household items (you need to use your own anyway)- with a quick online search, you can make your own fizzy experiments. Any attempt to make this "educational" is a sham.

Overall, a shameful attempt to separate you from your money

fun for my daughter . My daughter (6) has been having fun with this first science kit. It is good for her age, but she does need adult help with it.

Fun for Two . This kit was purchased as a gift for our 6 year old son. It has been a way for two (our son and one of us) to get together for some wholesome, educational, and quality fun time. We would highly recommend this kit. It is great to have everything you need for some basic experiments in one box.

Fun for Curious Kids . This is an excellent kit for any kid who is curious about the science of carbonation and other fizzy things. I remember creating baking soda and vinegar volcanoes when I was little and I always loved it. I would be surprised at any kid who DIDN'T enjoy this!

Easy but not very entertaining . This kit is easy to use and contains basically everything you need for some simple chemical reactions. I don't know why I was expecting something more though - it didn't hold the interest of my 4 year old... and I'm sure it's due to the fact that a big part of the kit is the colored tablets to tint the reactions. We already use color tablets in his bathtub so that didn't seem cool to him. If you don't already use those tablets in the bathtub - your child will probably think this is a little more magical.

Great educational toy . This product is a great learning tool to help teach a child to count and categorize. My son enjoys playing with it and it was a helpful tool in teaching him to count. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the quality for the price isn't there. The cans should (at least in my opinion) be made of a child safe plastic, but instead it's made of cardboard. It's definitely overpriced for the quality. The regular retail price is outrageous. On a side note, the carrot can had 11 carrots instead of 10.

Great Learning Toy . We purchased this set for my daughter's 2nd birthday. She absolutely loves taking out the items from each can - then we count them - then she puts them back in (or dumps them all into a toy shopping cart). Lots of fun and a great tool for learning. The pieces are large enough that I don't worry about her putting them in her mouth.

Very durable... . I have used this product in speech therapy and my kids realy love this product. We work on colors, counting, categorization, adjectives to desribe food items. I love it!

enjoyed at an earlier age than expected . I was planning to give this as a Christmas present to my granddaughter, however when I saw even at 14 months she was very interested in numbers and counting, I purchased it "just because". (I am afraid I have the condition "grandmaitis" and have a tendency to over indulge.) Back to the review- the baby loves it! She is engaged and interactive in the play. I, too, wish the "cans" were out of some kind of baby safe plastic, however if they are not strewn about to be stepped on, or dropped in the bathtub, they ought to hold up for a good while. After that, the food can become part of the child's kitchen. It was one of the more expensive educational toys I have purchased, but I am delighted with the purchase because it has been a delight for my granddaughter.

LOVE THESE! . These definitely exceeded my expectations. They are much larger than they appear (actually real can size) and though they are cardboard, they are extremely durable as are the plastic vegetables and fruits (made of hard plastic). The cardboard storage box is also nice. The options are truly endless with this toy - obviously counting and number recognition, but also play food, vocabulary development, sorting, stacking, in and out, size relationship, color recognition, etc, etc. Both of my children (ages 2.5 and 9 months) have been loving this set. Don't hesitate to buy these!!

Fantastic toy . My son (age 2.5) loves this toy. There are so many uses for this toy. I think it is an excellent value. My son has a kitchen and has been cooking with these since he got them.

WONDERFUL GIFT . This was given as a gift to my 2 yr. old granddaughter. In a just a few days, she was able to identify some of the numbers, just by looking at them on the outside of the cans. Now, three months later, she can visually identify the number on the outside of the cans. She picks up the fruit or veg. and counts them as she puts them in the correct cans. She has gotten so much use out of this gift in just a few short months. I would highly recommend this gift. It's a bit costly, but well worth it for the educational value. My only complaint would have to be that the cans are not holding up too well.

Cute fun and educational! . I highly recommend these. Not only is the food very realistic looking, they are very colorful and durable. The cans are thick cardboard with a durable laminated sticker and the lids are plastic...both are very strong and have held up to active play. I love that the food is all healthy choices and we count the items as we are putting them back in the cans. My daughter makes fruit salad and stew!

Number Soup Sorter . I have the Alphabet Soup Sorter and feel it is worth every penny I paid for it. Not so with the Number Soup Sorter. I sent it back. It's not something I would let the children play with because the pieces would be lost immediately. If it was half the price I might have kept it because the children do like the Alphabet version. Just think it was too expensive for what you got.
