Be aware lists as 6 months and up - package says 1yr and up. . Great manipulative toy. My nephew enjoys it. I was disappointed to see that Amazon has it listed as 6 months and up and the package says 1 year and up. Not a big deal, but it might matter to someone if they order it for a little one.

Colorful fun toy for learning how to use fingers and hands . I was not disappointed in this grasping toy from Melissa and Doug. Initially I was somewhat concerned about pinched fingers getting caught in joints or bands for hair to get caught in, but we have had no such issues. The dinosaur is very well constructed and there is little to no possibility of pinches. My daughter is easily able to twist and manipulate the individual segments and has remained amused by this toy over the past two months. There have been no issues with chipping paint or broken pieces (this is a toy that stays in her play pen so its survived quite a few tosses onto the hardwood floors).

Great safe toy at a great price . My son loves this toy. More so to chew on which makes me glad the paint is safe. We take it with us wherever we go and he doesn't seem to get bored of it. It's a low price, too. Bonus!

its ok . this toy is ok. bigger then i expected and the colors are not as bright (it actually is only painted on front/ back- not edges). it is solid construction and my child loves to chew on it. the problem is that his fingers get pinched in the bends all the time! i thought it was just him- being that he is 6 mos - but my niece is 13 mos and the same thing happens to her. i would say this toy is meant for preschoolers- definitely not babies!

Great toy! . My son loves this toy! Melissa and Doug toys are sturdy and easy to clean- always. My one year old son has had this toy for 3 months and has used it as a teether. He is now making it walk. He loves moving the pieces and talking to it. Great quiet toy for times when your little one needs to be quiet!

Great Wooden Teether-- My Son Loves It! . Bought this for my 7-month old as he was constantly putting his hands in his mouth and I wanted something nice for his Easter basket. This dinosaur teether is perfect for grasping and A-OK for him to put in his mouth. I love how you can configure it in different ways and how it looks like a "big boy" toy. In fact, my 3yr old likes it, too! Another plus-- it's affordable as far as wooden toys go... Hooray!

Great grasping toy . We got this toy for my 5 month old and he loves it. It immediately caught his attention and he spends quite a long time twisting and turning. What is really neat is that his 10 year old brother (and 40-something father) also have spent time playing with it. The dinosaur is fun to pose and easy for an infant to work with. Looks like quite the keeper and we will be getting different versions for sure!

Simple toy . This is probably better for an older child. My son is 6 months and uses it as a teether right now, but gets bored since its only one texture. It will probably be better suited to him in a couple of months.

Sometimes simple is better! . I wanted to get something gender neutral for my 8 month old daughter. This toy does not light up, move, or sing annoying songs, but my daughter LOVES it! It seems to captivate her attention just as well as her other toys. Best of all, there are no batteries to change. I'm very satisfied with this product.

Love the Colors . I bought this because I had another book by Soft Play and I'm obsessed with the colors and design of the Fisher Price Precious Planet line. My baby is two months old and she gets excited when I read this book to her. The colors are bright and beautiful and the story/poem is very cute. There is an oddly placed rattle; I can't figure out why it's on a page about penguins and fish, but she likes it. There are some crinkle pieces to lift as well. She smiles when I read it to her, so I would say this was a great purchase!

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! . My 6 month old loves this!!!! We've had this since she was about 5 months old and she has loved it since the first time I read it to her. The colors are VERY vivid and vibrant and she has never lost interest. There are 5 different items that are textured or crinkle. It's even gotten to the point where when we sit down to read it, she starts getting excited; legs kicking, high pitched shrieks and babbling...bottom line, she adores this book and I would TOTALLY purchase it again!!!!!

Perfect first book for my Infant . This book is perfect for my infant. We wanted to start out with our child loving books and this was the perfect start. This book is very soft, the pages are cloth and not paper based. There is no possibility of getting poked by a hard surface. Each page is colourful full of bright colors (mostly greens, blues and yellows) and catches our babies attention each time. The pages are composed of the following:Page 1: 1 lion, 2 elephants and the lions tail extrudes with a cloth fuzzy tail

Great Globe - Albeit Easily Broken . We ordered an intelliglobe as a Christmas (2010) gift for our kindergartener who has become interested in geography thanks to some classic British beginning readers (Around the World with Ant & Bee).

The globe arrived with the north pole axis popped out, but it was not too hard to pop it back into the cardboard globe and all was good. The toy has been a big hit, and while it is clearly meant for older children given the level of information provided, my young son and his younger sister love the "Continent game" and has moved on to harder challenges like cities and countries.

My wife, an elementary school teacher, would also highly recommend this globe for classrooms as well as being a great learning toy for home.

HOWEVER, one small warning, it is NOT VERY DURABLE in the hands of young children. We stored it on top of a short (table-height) book shelf and after only a couple of accidental (gentle) falls onto the carpeted floor, it is now broken at the posts that connect the main longitudinal ring around the globe to the base. Both of the "push-in" posts have now broken and the globe canno longer be held in the base. (one of these posts broke off in the base and we have not been able to dig the broken piece out -- yet!)

I contacted the manufacturer (Replogle) and got an e-mail back after a couple days that they do not sell those parts separately from the globe. Rather than being able to buy just the longitudinal plastic ring, they can only offer the whole globe for half (or more) of the cost of the whole product.

So, parents of young geography lovers, be warned. This globe is not built to be a "toy" that can sustain even an accidental fall of just 3' onto carpet, and the individual parts are not readily available for inexpensive repair. The plastic parts at the connection points seem to break much easier than I anticipated and has rendered the toy unusable.

We are still deciding on whether to fix this globe or not, given the cost and waste of parts that are not broken.

Fantastic educational toy . Our son is 11 and has not been very interested in geography or using globes and my attempts to get him interested have failed miserably. The day the Intelliglobe arrived my son was so excited about its arrival that he was literally playing with the globe as I was trying to get it out of the packing box. As soon as he got the globe out of the box he disappeared into his bedroom and stayed there playing with it for almost two hours. He loves this globe so much that I find him using it almost every day. He begs me to let him use this for his geography lesson instead of his usual curriculum. Each time a friend comes over he shows them his globe and they play with it for quite a while.

I am really impressed with all of the information that this globe contains, and the variety of subjects that it teaches. I have told several of my friends about this item and they are looking into purchasing the globe for their family.

Replogle 12" Intelliglobe Opinions
Cheaply made batteries wear out VERY quickly marketing spiel at startup . Like the title says (and one other commentor has mentioned) this is a cheaply made item. I am dismayed at what poor quality $100 US will buy these days.What I liked:

- the MOST annoying thing about this, is that when you turn the pen on, it repeats a marketing/sales spiel EVERY 'freakin' time. For some reason I can't get past this "invasion" into my home.

Good Idea but Obvious Flaws! . Great idea but there are problems. First, you've to hit the pen on exactly the right mark in order to get credit for the answers. I was on the correct country at times and it still marked it wrong in the trivia section. Most importantly Replogle's customer service is awful. They don't answer a phone, the voicemails are always full and when you speak with someone they're clueless and rude-all in all a bad combination for such an expensive globe!Also, they do not give you the answers to the trivia. They say to Google the answers so you can learn them youself-seriously? What learning is there in spending hours Googling answers, other than the fact that the company is too cheap to put the answers on their Website so you could help out your child! Good idea just wish it wasn't from such as lousy and cheap company!

The best gift for Christmas ! . My son 5 1/2 got this one from Santa. It was a hit! Now he have an idea about continents, countries, oceans. When daddy is in a business trip he can point where is daddy, where did he go. He likes to plan next in vacations. And also he likes to listen to the national anthem of each state. The book with flags, the story about the missions to space.
It is one of the best educational toys we got for him.

Geography lesson anyone? . We purchased this globe for our son on his 4th birthday. He is a bit young for the fragility of the pen....we are already on our second pen and have created a new rule about accessing the pen to play with the globe. The company replaced the pen for us since it stopped working after one week and one drop to the floor. That said, this toy is awesome! There are so many cool features. My husband and I like the 'find countries' game.....we are still working up to the 'find cities' game as our geography skills are being improved. The kids like the music function best right now. Just today, our son asked about Rio and we were able to show him on the globe where it is.

Intelliglobe . I bought this item for my grandson for his 4th birthday. He was fascinated with the globe and wanted to explore all the things he could do with it. He appeared to be able to utilize all the functions even though he is under the recommended age level. I recommend this educational device. I can't talk much about reliability as he has only had it for less than a week but so far so good.

Packaged poorly but works . this was packaged poorly, it rattled when we received it. We opened it up and it works. Will be a great christmas present. We had fun with it.

globe review . This globe is fun for our kids and my husband and I. It is not the most educational of all toys. When you play the games it has a tendancy to ask the same quesitons over and over. It is addicting. You can't seem to stop playing.

Cons Review

Great way to learn geography! . Our two kids, aged 11 and 7, love this toy. "Find the country" is easy enough for the kids to play, and some of the other games are challenging enough for those of us adults who think we are pretty well educated (turns out there is a LOT we don't know about the world!!!) The topics of interest are well varied; it's fun to hear the local music and national anthems of all the different countries, for example... We haven't explored all the ways to use this globe yet, but so far it has proven to be both very fun and very educational.

Sturdy cute insect net . I purchased two of these nets, one each for my 3.5-year-old and 1.5-year-old, and they love it! At just under 24" total length, it's long enough for the kids to reach up (fairly) high to catch insects, but not so long as to make it unwieldy, even for my 1.5-year-old. As with all Melissa and Doug products, it seems very well-made and sturdy and the cute, colorful design is an added bonus. Very pleased with purchase!

Butterfly's Seem Excited . My son purchased this product for his grandmother (using my money, computer, and shipping address...but it was his idea, at least) due to her recent installment of a butterfly garden. It shockingly arrived the day after I purchased it (very excited by that) in a package shockingly large for it.
However this looks like a very well-built product and I imagine that once the butterflies get a look at this bad-boy they'll be quivering in their little boots. Although I do imagine some will start a variation of a rebellion. Perhaps with blue face paint and kilts. Although I suppose a few will start some Occupy Rose Bush movement.
It's very colorful and my son is extremely excited to get to his grandmother for Festivus.

Great purchase . I had one bug net and after they caught "each other" 20 or so times, the net was destroyed. This one is actually sturdy and the handle is great. The other ones feel like a wire is going to poke out at any moment and stab someone.

great toy . My two boys were using plastic bags to catch bugs and after quite a few butterfly fatalities we decided to buy them a real butterfly net. These nets are durable and cute. The boys absolutely love them. They also use them in the summer to remove grass from their inflatable pool. We love them.

cute! . Very cute bug net! Durable. We use it in his baby pool to scoop up the lizards, works well for that too.

Fun Net . My 3 year old daughter was asking for a net and when we got this we were both happy with how it looks and how it can be handled easily.

Well I thought it might be fun... . It's adorable and I thought we might be able to catch bugs in it, but so far the only thing the kids want to put in the net are each other's heads. I would love to see my child running around catching butterflies in a field of flowers, but I think that is not realistic, at least not in the central US. Maybe it could be used at the beach to skim the water for little fish or shells, but the beach shops sell nets for that purpose for super cheap. So... I wish I hadn't spent money on this. Too bad.

More than I expected!! . I got this product for my 3 year old who will be going into preschool this Fall. She absolutely loves it and has already started finger tracing letters. Her favorite game is the magnetic fishing. I was happy that my 5 year old is able to enjoy it too. The book describes how to use each game differently for different ages. My kids want to play with their 'school games' every day! I love the case and how it keeps the product organized.

Cons Review

Eh... . I bought this kit for my almost 3 year old daughter as she has been showing interest in letters and words. I'm disappointed. The quality is not great (definitely a "Made in China" quality). The fish were scuffed and scratched out of the box and one letter was almost completely scratched off the fish. The gel is stiff and not maneuverable for my daughter's small fingers (hardly for mine!). The static cling "stickers" ripped off the sheet are just plain cheap. Yes, the all-in-one case is nice and the activities are educational, but I just think it's way overpriced for what you get. Almost all of the activities included can be made at home in some way. My advice is do some research online and make your own kit!

Easy to use educational product. . I bought this after reading a review online. Without a doubt, it is a very nice, easy to use educational kit. I like the all in one features - everything is ready to go in the case. It's good quality and has stood up to my youngest 2 active boys. Their favorite part by far is the fishing game, with the gel letter sheet being a close second. I personally think it's a little overpriced for what you get, but we do like & have used it for the past 2 months.

Music Fun . I purchased this set only for the music player. It was a great price for all three toys and even less expensive than buying the music player alone. My 16 month old son is a music lover.
