Rawr! . My preschooler, kindergartner, and grade school-er all love when I bring these down. They play naturally (sans coaching or prompting) with them at each of their own development levels: Colors, type sorting, counting, adding and subtracting, and grouping/ dividing them between each other. Play with these lasts them at least 30 minutes and they pick up nicely back into the tub. I expect these will last us many years and pass on to share with nieces and nephews too.

Nice quality open ended toy . My 6 year old son with autism and neurotypical 4 year old sister have a great time playing with this. It helps establish pattern recognition, counting along with learning what some, none and all are in a tactile way. We have owned this set for just over 3 months and we come up with more ways to play with it all the time.

Love these! . My daughter (3 yrs old) absolutely loves these blocks. She loves to follow the patterns, make up her own, or just stack them.

These are great! . I purchased these to use with my kindergartners. The blocks are a little smaller than expected, but I don't think that matters too much. I thought they would be inch cubes, but they are 2 centimeters. I especially like the cards with 3D structures that my students must do some thinking about to build. The description says there are 18 cards, but really there are 33.

magnetic link-n-spell letters . This is really a great product for teaching Pre-K students to learn the alphabet and spell out their name-I agree it should contain More in the set. That being said-I use these with my Pre-K students with special needs-great fun!!

Way better than I expected! . First, this thing is much larger than I thought it would be, which means we can weigh a wide variety of items with it. Also, it comes with a set of 5 and 10 gram ingots. My daughter launched into playing with it the moment I removed it from the box (it requires very slight assembly). This was a really good purchase for us.

Better than I expected . This seems to be an incredibly accurate little scale. It was bigger than I expected, but that's been a good thing. We learned that My Little Ponies weigh the same as a ball. It's held up to a two year old trying to "help" and a four year old who really loves measuring all the items in her world. I like the ability to "zero" out the scale using the adjusters on the top.

Nice Concept but Flimsy . I ordered this pan balance for use in my math lessons. It is a great tool with lots of potential so much that my kids have used it for everything imaginable. Upon receipt of this item, things were already falling out of the box, for example, the hexagrams. When put together, the hanging/attachment part of the balance is very flimsy; the rest of it is seemingly sturdy. If you're looking for something to use for a long time, this is probably not the balance for you.

Math concepts . We bought this to help our autistic son who is struggling with several related math concepts (More, Greater than, Less than, Bigger, smaller etc.). The BEST part about this scale is stacking/interlocking number cubes work great as weights! A single cube difference is enough weight to make the heavier bowl OBVIOUS (nearly touching the table!) That really made our day. Also as noted by other customers the scale is much larger than expected. The bowls on this puppy can EASILY hold 50 of the individual cubes with room to spare! (I couldn't find them all to test out 100 lol) This really was a fantastic bargain for us. It's a sturdy enough plastic, although I wouldn't recommend stepping on it... and although a single interlocking cube does make an obvious weight difference in the bowls I wouldn't suggest using this for actual scientific experimentation ;) However if you are looking for a great tool to visually and kinesthetically (hands on) express math concepts, or just a fun and unique toy, I WOULD recommend this one!

An ok supplement when learning about clouds . I picked up this set of inflatables on Dec. 4th to use with my 5th graders who learn about weather as part of their science curriculum. It was a lightning deal for $20 at the time, so the current $10 is a much better price and would probably bump my personal review to 4 stars as I definitely take the entire value into account.

The clouds are interesting to the students. They enjoy holding them and anything that can grab their attention is a plus for me. It's a decent supplement after you've studied pictures and online resources with the students. The product mentions that it includes a fact guide, which simply gives a working definition for each of the 8 cloud types included and a quick matching activity and answer key. Some of the clouds only display their image on one side in order to allow more light to come through the inflatable, similar to the clouds themselves, which is an interesting touch. I haven't had to use the repair kit, but it's nice that there is one for each of clouds. Hooks and strings were also included and seemed servicable.

With a little work and creativity these inflatables can be an effective addition to a science lesson. They seem well made and have held up in the week that I have been using them. The pictures also aren't quite as vivid as the product image might suggest. Overall, they don't have a lot of staying power and are likely something that I will pull out to use with my students once or twice a year, with online videos and nature walks still being the best way to demonstrate different cloud formations.

Very Pleased . Purchased this item for our grand daughter for Christmas this year. She is eleven years old and loves science. After opening her presents she went right to working with each of the models and loved working with them. The parts are really small but because of her age she did fine. I wouldn't purchase for a younger child because of the size of the pieces.

Not the best quality . I was disappointed to discover that some of the mating pieces didn't quite fit. (The insertion piece is bigger than the hole it goes in.) The connecting pieces are a bit fragile, too. They are a flexible plastic, so they should have some give, but they are still easily broken. The puzzles are smaller than I expected, but I don't mind. I love the tiny details!

Cute but not for learning... . This product is really cute. The models are very small and come unassembled. The assembly instructions are VERY confusing on some of the models and NONE of the body parts are labeled on the part or in the manual. So how can you learn anything you don't already know???

Great intro to learning anatomy for adults and older children . These come as 3 dimensional puzzles. I enjoyed them and my niece and nephew age 9 also do. They are a great toy to learn anatomy. You can put them together and take them apart many times.

Learnimg tool. but leaks! . My 3rd graders loved these for practicing capacity conversion. Very durable, but they are not designed to hold water. They leak badly. The lids are not designed to hold water at all. You can use colored rice though.

great for homeschools and other schools . My son was having trouble remembering measurement equivalents. Posters, drawings, and measuring cups weren't enough. I discovered this set in a curriculum catalog and what caught my eye was that the set uses containers similar to what you'd find in real life such as the gallon jug and pint containers one typically buys milk in.

The set is made from study plastic, a little oily, but that'll wash off. (The set just arrived this afternoon.) Measurements are in US and Metric, and there are lots of them. Example: the gallon jug is marked in cups, pints, quarts, 1/2 gallon, gallon (the line is slightly below the top, just where milk would be filled to,) and oz.

Though I haven't used it yet, and when I do it'll be in a homeschool setting with only one child, the set seems durable enough for a regular school or preschool setting.

Definitely worth the money and I wish I'd found it sooner!

ok so far . I got this for a first grade classroom. I keep this outside most of the year, only bringing it in when we do our daily weather. It is wood so it does warp... apparently. It is really big and pretty heavy but is is nice because the kids can see the temp outside from across the classroom. Hopefully the weather doesn't hurt it too much but after 4 months, i see it already taking it's toll. The description doesn't say it is an indoor thermometer, maybe it should.

Fun Product. . This has just arrived so have only been using it a short time. The seeds they ask you to work
with in the book do not match the seeds that arrived in the box so it has made it hard to do some

still trying to figure out how to work the teachers manual and the childrens manual. I am new
to this as well so am still having to figure all of this out. If you are an educated in science
I am sure your review would differ than mine. But for a beginner it can be a bit confusing to start.
I still recommend the product though. Overall it has lots of educational value and the kids like it.

Sturdy well-made and great for the visual learner . I homeschool my children. My 7yo was having a hard time understanding why borrowing/regrouping works but this made it "click" within 10 minutes, so much so that he can do many problems in his head now. I can think of many other concepts where these will be helpful and plan to get many years of use from these (he is the oldest of 5). Wish I'd gotten them 2 years ago. Our former math curriculum used dimes and pennies to teach place value but these manipulatives are much more intuitive.

Base ten Starter Set Plastic Blue . It's a great educational product. My only two complaints are the packaging and the activity guide. I thought it was going to include some kind of storage case, but it didn't. It just came in plastic bags. I'll just keep it in the cardboard box it came in, for now. The activity guide is one sheet of paper folded in half with few suggestions. I confused activity guide with activity book so I was disappointed when I saw the guide and not the book. Beside those two complaints, this product is great and I'm glad I made the purchase.

Great Base-10 blocks . These are durable base ten blocks that have become a lifesaver for teaching my child how to add and subtract. It comes with a workbook that I haven't needed to use yet, but it looks interesting. The box provided also does a great job holding the blocks when they are in storage. I highly recommend these base ten blocks!

Great! . This is the best price I could find "new" and we are glad we made the purchase. My three-year-old likes to build with them and my daughter (age 7) uses them with our math curriculum. You can find many free resources on the Net to use the blocks/system. Recommended.

great economical base ten set . I bought these for my kids to help reinforce the base ten concept. I allowed them to just play with them for a couple of days before diving into any real lessons. We have done a lot of "trading" exercises and I can see them really starting to grasp the concept. They have been very helpful.I do, however, see that there could be some problems with these manipulatives. The blocks are not weighted, so some children might have a difficult time understanding that the 1000 cube is ten times more than the 100 flat, since it clearly is hollow and does not weigh anything close to 10 times as much. I think for a truly multisensory experience purchasing a base ten set that is weighted would be helpful. Luckily for us, it has not been an issue, and for the great price I don't think it could be expected.My other criticism is the fact that there is only 1 thousand cube in the set and they are not offered seperately. 3 would have been ideal for me.On another note, these were cheaper for me to buy directly from Assessment Services. The set was $13.50 plus $9.50 shipping (orders over $100 get free shipping).

empty promises . The product description was misleading. First of all the included activity book supposedly covers 1-6 grade operations, but the revised version that came with our set only covers grades 3-6. We could have used more simplified operations that focused more on number concepts and relatedness. In the same vein, the 1000 unit cube isn't made of solid plastic like the other pieces in the set. This has caused some confusion when drawing comparisons between the different units...why would the thousand unit piece have the same weight as a 100 unit piece. Will be trying to contact Learning Resources to see if there's a replacement option for the book...would welcome suggestions on how to fix the empty thousands box...maybe we'll just switch to the solid wood option.

Spanish foam letters . I had been looking for something similar to Montessori's moveable alphabet, but less expensive. This turned out perfect, especially because it has the Spanish Alphabet letters! We are teaching our daughter to read spanish so i have to say this has been a wonderful alternative to the Moveable alphabet. Same principle for less money!
My only suggestion to the manufacturer would be a different packaging. It'd be great to have a box with individual spaces for the letters, to make it easier for the child to find the letters needed when doing spelling activities. We're making ours at home.

Spanish Magnetic Foam Letters . I think this product is great. My 6 year old is in a Spanish dual language program and loves to use mini letters to spell words etc. The only thing that was disappointing was the lack of the double rr. All of the other double letters were included, so I can't figure out why the double rr was missing. If that had been included, I would have given it 5 stars all the way down.
