magnetic blocks . My first interaction with this manipulative left my 2nd grade students wanting more exercises in adding with regrouping. This helped them to understand the concept of regrouping. They were able to understand with clarity the reason for going to the next higher group to complete the problem. An excellent resource that every educator should have.

Perfect Size . Absolutely love the size of this product, it's actually better than I expected. It's easy to put away and does not take up much room.

Not complete enough for all our homework . We use these at home to reinforce what the kids are doing at school. The pieces are big enough to use in front of a class, but still a great size for home use. They all store away flat in a gallon size bag. Don't take up much room at all.The only problem is, there are only 10 "tens" strips. The homework problems in the kids' base ten lessons go up to 99 + 99. You can't demonstrate 99 + 99, or even 50 + 60, using the tens in this set. The whole point of the set is to demonstrate the ten place value using the tens strips. I'm giving it a high rating, because 10 tens is standard for a base 10 set. But I feel like for the price of this set, they should include enough tens strips to do all double-digit problems up to 99 + 99. Especially because they don't sell extras seperately.

Pretty diary but cheap lock . My daughter received this item for Christmas and LOVED it! It is very pretty, with a glittery fairy on the front; however, my daughter only used the lock twice and it already broke, and the lock is one of the most important parts to her because she has a little sister. Hopefully a replacement lock or entirely new diary will be sent to us asap so my daughter can keep on writing in her beautiful fairy diary!

Frustrating Spa kit . I bought this kit to use for my daughter's 9th birthday spa party. I love that all these great little containers came with the kit so that the girls could take home what they made and nice headbands to keep their hair out of their face. However, this is what you are paying for entirely. The only ingredients that come with the kit are citric acid and very tiny packets of glitter. That's fine, since the recipes call for mostly standard pantry items, but the recipes themselves were very frustrating, and I felt did not come together well. The lip balm was particularly frustrating, since it called for microwaving the ingredients but they didn't melt together well and just made a big mess that was too much to fit into one container. The bath bombs were difficult for the girls to get to the correct consistency to press into the mold. We were also going to make the sugar scrub, but were so frustrated that we put the kit away for the night and did manicures instead. In addition, there is no real science education in this kit at all.

If you do not, you will not have the product to make this come off at all. This might be better for tween's but I am not sure they would be into it like the 8 year olds were. Fun Spa Day for kids . Bought this for my 9-year-old granddaughter for Christmas and she has already used it with her cousin and still has enough to have a spa day with momma. I like the fact that you use regular items that you can purchase at the grocery store, i.e., avocado for the facials. Some people might not like the fact that everything was not included in the box. She was very excited to receive this gift.

Cons Review

Great fun for a girls sleepover! . This kit has everything needed to allow 4 girls to make and do lots of fun spa activities at home. The instruction cards are very detailed and gig ingredients needed to make everything. It is very user friendly and easy to understand, even for an 11-year-old. We were very happy with this kit and the girls had so much fun!

Fabulous manipulatives . I bought this manipulative set to use with my young daughter who was so bored at school that she was learning very little. These penguins are so fun she could not resist them. The penguins are about 2 inches tall and are made of a pleasant-to-the-touch vinyl type of material. There are ten colors, and ten penguins of each color = 100 penguins. After we've done math with the penguins, we practice counting and colors in Spanish. If you are interested in the coloring strip pictured with the listing, you should know that they provide you with one original as part of the instruction book, and you copy it to make the strips yourself. We are not using the coloring strips, ourselves.)

Love the ball bopper . My daughter received this toy at 9 months old and started using the toy to put the balls in and out of the box. Now she is 1 year old and she has mastered putting the balls in and out of the box in multiple ways. She has great eye/hand coordination because of this toy and her fingers can pull the balls out of the holes. She still does not have the hammer portion of the toy because she does not need it. She also has used this toy to hand us the balls frequently, and then she learned how to roll the balls to us on the floor. She doesn't throw the balls but if she did start throwing them it would be an issue because they are really nice dense wood balls. She LOVES this toy and plays with it all the time. I highly recommend this toy and I recommend it for a younger child like 9 months to learn eye-hand coordination. Lastly, this toy is really nicely made, it is sturdy and colorful.

Pros and Cons but overall.... GREAT! . Okay, let start with the CONS: the toy is not worth the price because it includes a 10 page "recipe book" detailing how to make all the "products", several small bags of citric acid and a few really cheap plastic containers for storing "products." You could go to an all natural body product website, get some ideas and use household containers to make everything. So, think before you spend on this.

Pros: Okay, I DID spend money on this and... my daughter loved it! The value of the time spent with my daughter was truly priceless. If I have to waste a few bucks to initiate a fun evening... so be it!

Overall: Buy it and have fun!

All Natural Spa Lab . I purchased the Spa Lab for my 9 year old granddaughter. She loves fashion and looking good so she immediately went to explore what could be done with the spa. She used cucumber slices or tea bags to put on her eyes to remove bags under the eyes. She put an avacado "mask" on her face. There were items in the kit to make scented disks to put in closets or drawers. She thoroughly enjoyed doing facials with her mom. This is fun and the items that aren't provided in the kit are easily available in the kitchen.

good if you want to use natural products . My 6 year old daughter loves this kit. It is great if you want ideas for making your own natural spa products, rather than subjecting yourself to chemical filled products. I rated it a 3, however, because although it does have a cute recipe book, the recipes could easily be found in a variety of sources. It is a little expensive for what is basically just recipes, glitter, and a few plastic containers.

Great bonding opportunity . This kit is a great bonding opportunity for you and your child and teaching the healthy organic choices to all your family members. Neat book, we really haven't been using any of the containers that came with a kit and be prepared - you have to have a lot of ingredients handy. Yes, you could pull the recipes on-line but here your child gets to pick them with the help of a book. I like this kit. Not as much as for recipes (which are easy to make and quite delicious too - it's fun to be able to eat hair mask, for example :)) but as for all the bonding time with my little girl!

Great service and product quality! . This product arrived fast and in great condition! I gave it as a Christmas present and the 10 year old loved and seemed very excited to try the fun ideas out!
