Animal farm sounds . Our 3 month old daughter loves looking at this - the bright colors esp. Whenever she gets agitated, we show her this book, and she quitens down immediately! She in fact reaches out and flips the pages, though I'm pretty sure she isn't aware of what she is actually doing. All in all, a great buy. P.S. - the book doesnt have audio sounds, just pictures of animals and the sound they make.

Fine Motor Fun! . As an Occupational Therapist, I use this toy frequently to teach dressing skills to the children with whom I work. They have so much fun piecing the snake together that they forget they are learning to manipulate fasteners in the process. The head of the snake is a hand puppet, and the soft, colorful body pieces are both large and durable, making them easier to manipulate. My elementary school-aged children of all ages request "Snakey" again and again. This educational toy is definetly worth the money!

He is a wonderful teaching tool as well as being loads of fun as a puppet, however I have had to sew the seams back together in various places within days of purchase. poorly constucted . I purchased this for my grandson who is mildly autistic. The idea was he could learn how to snap. button, zip, etc as he was a bit behind in these basic skills. He loved it when I gave it to him. The puppet head was so much fun. I used the puppet head to "bite" him and he giggled, then tried to "bite" everyone attending his birthday party. Sadly, Snaky began falling apart almost immediately. My daughter contacted the manufacturer and they asked her to send snaky to them to see what was happening.It took awhile before we got him back. I'm not sure if he really helped Rob out all that much as he wasn't able to play with him much.

A great way to practice fasteners! . I work as an OT in the school systems. My students often are working on clothing fasteners...usually rather dreary practice. Snakey has been a huge hit, as he can take himself apart, scatter his pieces, and still keep on talking with the students. They have so much fun finding his pieces, and reattaching the puppet. It makes the fastener practice a highlight of the session for many kids.

Nick Jr. Cash register . I thought this would be great for my son because he seems to love pressing buttons and counting and also loves all the Nick Jr. cartoons. It doesn't really keep his interest though. I think it's a little boring. Not quite what I imagined it would be. I think a regular toy cash register would be a better buy.

Practical Durable Toy . I got this for my 2 year old son. He loves the pictures and noises. I think he will understand/learn more as he grows into it.

Cute but don't download name . My son got this toy for Christmas and we followed the instructions to download his name from the website into the toy...Not once did it download his name. It's downloaded everything from Rocky to Samantha, even though you have to type in the name to download. We tried several different times and it simply won't download the right name...which is really sad and definitely not personalized. Now we don't know how to remove the name and have to deal with it saying: Allapalla? That doesn't sound like "Evan" to me!

The toy itself is really cute, but don't waste your time and hurt your childs feelings by trying to download their name!

Just a toy . I guess I was looking for more cash register type noises and effects. Its a toy. It talks,lights up and keeps him entertained. I wasnt able to set up the name for my child which is a bummer, I think its my usb cord and not the toy, but i wish it was a more universal size that could be used. but the toy is good. it teaches and is worth it.

Well made and educational . My daughter got this as a gift at 18 months and is now 21 months old. She and her play date friends really enjoy playing with all the animals, which are well made, colorful and cute. We use it as an opportunity to tell her what letter the animal name starts with -- as she gets older we may use it to learn the alphabet more explicitly but for now it's as the occasions arise.

My only con about this product is that some of the animal choices are odd or just not intuitive for small children. What my child labels as 'bird' is a Quail and there's a fish for the letter X (I'm assuming this stands for X-ray since you can see the bones or maybe it's a specific type of fish - clearly confusing). Also, there's a unicorn for U -- wish they had used a real animal.

Overall, it's a solid product. The stitching is well done, the colors are lively, and everything is well labeled. We have not lost any animals and I would definitely recommend this toy to others.

Surprisingly Durable! . Received these as a gift and at first I was skeptical. I grew up with wooden alphabet blocks and was pretty set that my kids would too. The whole box is really light and I thought it was empty. I opened the crafty magnetic flap and there staring at me was a full box! So the kid and I dumped them out and commenced playtime. I really thought this was some sort of disposable toy. The boxes are cardboard! But here's the kicker, now days the wood blocks are smaller and not very colorful. My daughter immediately went for the bigger, brighter and lighter cardboard alphabet boxes. We made a castle, I tried to show her the animals, we spelled her name. So now that other part that you're waiting for in comparison to the wooden blocks I loved... When the child throws them, they don't break other things! Not that my perfect darling child has done this on more than two occasions, but I'd rather have her throw the cardboard boxes any day.

After a week, we retired the wooden blocks to a decorative only state, stacked with her name showing, never to be played with again.

The cardboard blocks remain in the primary toy/book basket in the living room. We've had these blocks over a year now and they are still like new! I have no clue how, as they have been played with nearly every day for a year. I bet if you stomped on them like an aluminum can, they would crush. The large box that they come with may be key. The large magnetic flap ensures a neat package once put away. And since the box is made just for this, you know exactly how many lost blocks are somewhere under couches, TV stands or tables.

Durable, colorful, light, convenient and I guess educational as well. Sometimes the simple toys are the ones that get all the use. Will continue to use this next year to move from teaching animals to letters.

Not Inpressed at all! . I bought these blocks for my 19 month old son for Christmas, however I never gave them to him. The are paper and hollow. They are not durable at all! They are very colorful and cute, that is why I bought them. My son likes to chew on his other blocks, so I know that it would only take about 3 mins to have anyone of these blocks ruined! I don't recommend them for smaller children that like to chew on their toys or who are rough on their toys (stepping on them, chewing on them, throwing them, etc.

Fun for more than just their intended purpose! . I bought these after our occupational therapist recommended our boys practice their lacing skills at home. I bought the tool set as I thought they would hold the boys' interest. Unfortunately, they are more interested in playing with them as tools than they are in using them as lacing cards. However, the cards are soft and pliable, and seem to be of good quality. So far, they've held up well to imaginative play!

DISSAPOINTED . So I wanted to buy my son a toy like this but everywhere I looked it was just to expensive and this seemed to be the most reasonable. I was sooo wrong. As soon as I got this product in the mail it was just to tiny. I mean it was small. I was so disappointed that I got a toy like this for my son. I was thinking I was going to get a big toy that stands on the floor that is at least bigger than my 12 month old. I was so wrong this was half the size of my 12 month old. I would have returned it but it was just too much of a hassle. For the price that they are selling this for it is not worth buying. I would settle for the ones you get at Target or at Toys R' Us or somewhere else for that matter. He barely even plays with this thing cause he just carries it around tossing it around cause that's how small it is. I'm just plainly dissapointed by this product.
