Excellent Learning Tool and Durable . My 3 year old loves puzzles but is still learning his letters and numbers so this was the perfect present for him. It's durable although the container it comes in got stepped on and cracked (it's plexiglass-like material). All pieces are wood and there has been no chipping or peeling of any kind so far with moderately rough use (he's three after all). There is a nice variety of words and pictures as well as high quality graphics on the wooden cards. The wooden letters and numbers are also withstanding well. Honestly, he loves playing with it and so does his 6 year old brother and is learning a lot from it. I would highly recommend this as a fun, but educational, toy.

Love the Concept...One small issue . My 6 year old son received this as a present for Christmas and although he had a blast with me and loves having the cool rocks and book, there was one little problem with the kit. The one we received (not from Amazon, but somewhere else I might note) had the wrong card names for the rocks. It comes with a poster you can "identify" the combo bags (one unpolished and one polished) of rocks with, but although it had two types of rocks, it had the wrong card names of them and didn't include the correct ones in it. It was a simple fix (turn over the cards and on the back write the correct names) but my 6 year old was frustrated with this fact and didn't understand why they included the wrong names. To tell you the truth, I don't either and for the price here I would look elsewhere for a better kit that gives the correct information if you have a child who is easily frustrated. Granted it says for ages 8 and up, but my 6 year old is advanced and has shown an interest in collecting minerals and polished stones so without the name issue, it would have been an excellent gift.

Great Product . I got these lacing cards because I wanted to help my son with his fine motor skills. I've tried wooden beads but he never like them; he ended up throwing them away around the house. He adores these cards. He's very much into animals (and the illustrations are super cute), and he seems fascinated with this set.
It's also a great challenge for him to make one after another. In addition he plays with them as if they were animal toys. They come in a wooden box for easy storage. I think this is a great and valuable educational toy; the quality is very good and worth the price.

Great way to learn . I bought these as replacements to the cheap plastic letters you can find anywhere...glad I did! The entire back of the number/letter is covered with magnetic material = sticks to the fridge without falling off! My kids really like them so would recommend to others with toddlers.

Easy way to teach the alphabet . I loved having these magnets on my fridge. My son enjoyed looking at the letters and each time I arranged them I would sing the alphabet. We separated the letters so we could teach him groups such as A, B, C, and D. Had to take them down recently because he discovered that throwing them was a lot more enjoyable than reading them!

Good One . My son was recommended to use lacing beads or cards to improve his fine motor skills. We tried several ones and these ones are the best. No Letters just the things that start with that lettter . If you are expecting magnetic letters this is not for you. It is just a book that shows the letters on the page and then a magnetic piece that goes with that letter like B and then there is a BIKE that you can stick on the fridge.

If you buy the Animals book and this one you will have duplicates. It is okay for my 3yr old, but she was expecting letters that you could stick on the fridge.

Oh well. They are still fun and high quality. These will last for years to come.

An absolutely charming sensible educational toy . I ordered these for my 17 month old daughter, who was starting to display an interest in learning her alphabet and we both had gasps of delight in opening them. They are GORGEOUS in person and made of a really nice, lightweight, but durable material. I love how it includes both upper case, lower case, and a picture of a word starting with each letter. Only complaint, maybe a better case for the cards themselves, the case it comes in is a little clumsy.

These are NOT wood. . These cards are advertised as wooden flash cards, but they are NOT wood. They have a picture of wood printed on them. They are actually CARDBOARD. My daughter bent a card in half in the first minute of play. This is why I wanted wood cards, not cardboard.

Great Product Educational and Fun! . This is a great product, my mother send it to my baby boy (1 ? years) and he enjoy a lot play with it. My 4 year old daughter plays the teacher and is helping him to learn his ABC's. He spends lot of time trying to memorize the letters in the cards and associate them with the images. The product is very good, highly educational, lovely illustrations and I like the fact that comes in a wooden box for easy storage.

Very cute flashcards . As the other reviewers have noted, the flashcards are not actually wooden. Because I read other reviews, I knew this fact before I purchased this item. The flashcards are made from some type of cardboard, but they are attractive pieces. They are not, of course, indestructible, which is why I supervise my daughter when we play with them. She likes the cards, especially the pictures on the cards and calls out what the pictures are when we play with them. I don't know if the cards are helping her recognize and learn letter shapes specifically, as opposed to merely aiding her in gaining a recognition that "A" is a letter and it has some relevance to "apples". But she's only 2 years-old, so I assume she'll learn these things in due time.

THESE ARE NOT WOODEN!!!!!!! . My Mother ordered these for my son for his 5th Birthday. While they are nice, sturdy cards, the are NOT wooden and my Mother is very angry about this. The advertising is VERY misleading and should be changed. The only thing wooden about this is the storage box.

Not actually wooden... . I was looking for flash cards for my two year old son but I didn't want something that could be bent and ripped easily. It says in the title these are wooden cards and I thought they would be thin wood, but they aren't. They are card board. My son enjoys looking at them and the colors are bright and I thought it would take a while for him to destroy them but he has already managed to chew off a few corners. Overall they are more durable than most and we are happy with the purchase.

Cardboard is made from trees . I guess since cardboard is made from trees that is why they described it as Wooden Flash Cards. Yes they are sturdier than your typical cards, but they should have called the "CARDBOARD flash cards." Upside they are stored in a wooden box.

Sturdy but not wooden . I love that these flash cards are plane and easy to read...the pics are nice and clear too - not distracting from the alphabet. My only complaint is that the flash cards are not wooden like the title suggests, 'Shure Wooden Alphabet Flash Cards'. They do come in a wooden box but the cards themselves are not wooden. They are a heavy cardboard. Durable, but not wooden.

Not actually wooden . I searched long and hard for wooden alphabet flash cards, after seeing some nice ones that a friend had gotten her son. I was so excited to find these, but when my son opened them, I learned that I had actually purchase cardboard flashcards in a wooden case. SO dissapointing! Obviously, they didn't last as long as I had hoped they would. My kids did like them and they're nice flashcards, but I never would have bought them if they hadn't been advertised as wooden.
