sweet . Pretty awesome toy. I put it together in a few minutes. You can crash it into the wall and it will be alright. The only thing is, is you have to operate it on a hard flat surface, like wood or tile.

Good Learning Project . I bought this for my 10-year old son (he has a fascination with hoover crafts) for a father-and-son project. The hoover craft assembled easily, and really hoovered nicely. It doesn't allow any steering, so it only goes in a straight line, but it comes with a pretty strong electric motor, and the hoovering effect is really cool. My son enjoyed it, and so did I. The only problem now is, he wants me to build a larger one for him to ride on!
Loved it. . This is a really fun toy. Who doesn't love a hover craft? Good project and educational at the same time. I recommend it.

Didn't Hover . I bought this for my 10 y.o. nephew for Christmas. Everyone thought it was cool. My 21 y.o. niece helped him put it together and they had a lot of fun building it. However, when it came time to power on and glide across a flat surface... nothing! It just wouldn't move. They tried various surfaces, but it just wouldn't move =(
4M Hover Craft . I bought this 4M Hover Craft for my teenage son for Christmas because he likes to construct items. He built it according to the instructions but it never worked the way the instructions promised that it would.
Not worth it . Let me say first, we did enjoy putting it together. My husband and I both have electronic/mechanics backgrounds, and explained to the kids how it was supposed to work. Yes, I said supposed to work.
When we put it together per the instructions, the polarity was reversed. To give them credit, in the troubleshooting section-they did tell you to just reverse the wires. No big deal. Once we got the motor blowing air in the right direction, it still wasn't inflating. Turned it upside down again, and went all the way around the bottom with scotch tape making sure there was no other way for the air to leak out. Success! ...so we thought. It did inflate, but once we set it down, it deflated and didn't move. Picked it back up, and it inflated again, for about 20 seconds. Then it just quit. Engine crashed and the batteries were super-hot to the touch.
Overall, it's great for the educational knowledge, but if you want something that actually WORKS-try a different kit.
great fun for young-ish kids easy to modify too. . this is an excellent kit. i bought this about a year ago. i was thirteen, so it was fairly easy. i built it in about ten minutes, used it for a while, then went straight to modifying. i am a serious R/Cer. as in SERIOUS. i fly 6 foot wingspan rc gliders, and build rc sailboats to race. therefore, i put a rudder on it, to allow steering. i also put in a 7.4 volt lithium battery, and a motor controller (esc) to give me full control of speed. one thing i found about durability is that the plastic "air bubble" (or skirt) gets torn up after a while of running on asphalt. although, this is probably to be expected considering that i clocked it at 40 mph.
Completely Disappointed . My 10 yr old son loves science and wanted this project. After spending an hour assembling the project, he placed it on a tile floor and the hover craft failed to hover. The base/motor is just too heavy to even lift off the ground. The project is poorly designed. This is not a fun project if you actually want the hovercraft to hover. It has been a huge disappointment and if I can return it, I would.
