Sturdy . The field guide is just their catalog of the other products in the line. The lantern is cute and bright. My grandson used it as a night light at our cabin.

Backyard Safari Adventurer Kit . First of all this toy is not be for up to 12 yrs old, a 12 yr old would laugh at it. The Compass did not have a button to push to open , we could not get it open. The hook on the compass broke the first time we tried to put it on the vest. I would not recommend this product, your little one will be disappointed.
