It works . I bought is toy for my nephew. We saw it at a fair and he just had to have it. To my relief it actually does what is says. We've had a lot of fun making holograms out of all kinds of small items. Can't wait to try it on something from nature. I recommend this toy to any budding scientist our illusionist.

Fire Hazard . I purchased this item a few years back, and it was fun for a while. BUT:
Recently this item was sitting on an indoor table near a window in my boys' bedroom, basically forgotten. One of my boys noticed smoke wafting up. It turns out the concave nature of the mirror had focused the suns rays up onto the underside of the black plastic cover, and the plastic had begun burning. Luckily they just happened to be in the room at the time and we doused it with water. I hate to think what might have happened had the fire started during a work day.
